Geez, so you think one cant be a Christian until passing some kind of bizarre psychological profile? Or a senior research project?

I suppose Jesus didnt know what He was talking about when he pointed us to the two greatest commandments, neither of which appear in the OT?

Actually, both commandments are stated in the OT.

Deuteronomy 6:5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Leviticus 19:18 'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.

Gal. 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

OK. Mike, I will buy your take on this. Shows me one more reason to believe Jesus was an expert in the written tradition AND that He was an expert in the oral tradition, and therefore had much in common with the Pharisees, remains speculative, I suppose.

However, I will continue to challenge the OP and his criterion for being a real Christian. The willingness and sincere effort to be right with God and be right with your neighbor, and to practice the basic works requirement as described in Matthew is more than enough to qualify as leading a Christian life. That is whqat the people who knew Jesus or who knew those who knew Jesus required, according to the practices of the very early Christians.
