Although I don't believe in "spirit". Mind, body, spirit is a good description for simplifying the complexity of humans when considering a holistic approach to improve ourselves. We are varying mixture of these three notions. I would even suggest that this mixture does not have static concentrations but rather is a dynamic concentration Mixture. but I digress.
Some people have in them a high concentration of "body". Their world view is driven solely but what they "see" with their senses. They can't be self aware past the image in the mirror.
I want to make it real clear. I always dehumanize myself first, so I put this descriptors on my group before I would ever put them on another group of people. "belief based" causes for "literal people" is a stupid suggestion. "literal people" are "Literal people". As the number of atheist grow there will be far more atheist that just "believe" because mommy and daddy told them.
Jesus quoted the scriptures on several occasions. They were important to Him so they're important to me. What is most precious about the Word is that Jesus Christ is the Word. The scriptures don't come before Him but they all point back to Him. They are our spiritual mirror to help us confirm that we are walking in The Way. How else will you know if you are walking in faith? The heart of man is by nature evil and will always look to please itself.
M<an wrote that Jesus quotes scripture. And when Jesus did, 90% of the time he dod so to REBUKE the religious leaders of His day and tried to teach them where they were WRONG for being so stringent n their "need" for scripture to maintain their status and justify their control over the community. .
