Nobody likes a pretender. It is in our instincts to be aware and watch out for those who pretend to be something, or someone that they are not. Ironically though, Christians sometimes can be the best pretenders out there. We are great about putting on a mask; saying all is good when really it's not, and putting on a smile when all we really feel like doing is breaking down and crying.
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. (Romans 12:9-10, NLT)
Why do we insist on pretending that were fine? We need to see each other in our weaknesses so we can really love on one another. How can we show real love if we are unable to show our sufferings, pain, and weaknesses?
It all starts with our relationship with our Lord and Savior. If we pretend with Him, we will also pretend with others. God knows our hearts and He wants us to be real with Him. He wants to hear our cries, our hurts, our pains, our doubts, and our fears.
Once we begin to be real with our Father, we can then begin to be real with each other.
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. (Romans 12:12-13, NLT)
Lord, we come before you today with repent full and humble hearts. Help us to see Lord where we are pretending in our lives with you and with others. Give us Your strength to be real with You, and real with our fellow brothers and sisters. We want to rejoice in our Hope in You, to be patient in our troubles, and to be eager to pray. We need You Lord in order to live our lives in this way. We need You Lord to remove this need to pretend in so that we can live our lives to You in the fullest. We ask this Lord in the mighty name of Christ Jesus, AMEN.
Many times Christians resist the demons by not giving sympathy to the works of the devil and saying if feel fine when they may be ill or have a hard time Just to keep the peace and not to attract the devil to bother them ............., or telling some one their dress looks beautiful and saying a white lie when the dress is ugly just to keep in peace ,.........See it is not that people may be pretending to love the Lord , as Jesus Holy Spirit will lead people into peace and will say things like `cheer up this is only temporary ``Jesus has a plan `` the pain is not permanent ``
