Isn't it curious that the Vatican denies that the Pope had a meeting with the Kentucky county clerk, meets with an openly gay person, talks about inclusion of gays, and then fires the gay monsignor.

Simple. The priest announced he had a boyfriend and was in love. Having a boyfriend is frowned upon if you're a priest. Had he announced he had a girlfriend and was in love the outcome would have been the same.

Are you expecting an explanation of the Pope's actions from random people on the internet? If you want an explanation from the Pope...write him a letter. The Vatican has a post office. Last I heard a group of nuns opened the letters and directed them to the appropriate office.
