Returning to topic...It is NOT the bible that needs to be preached--it is OUR DEEDS by which others will see Christ..

I remind you, Peter who walked with Christ DENIED Him THRICE!!
And Jesus forgave him. Nevertheless, that has nothing to do with how well Peter understood Jesus' words and whether Paul was speaking truth.

It's not always about Christians or Christianism, there are other motives for the backlash.

All we "fundies" hear is how much "agape love" all of you (and you know who you are) have for everyone, and you take this man's plea for help for others thread and turn it into your own personal bash-the-bible-who-needs-it agenda. APPALING. Peace
You mean the plea to evangelize, instead of loving people and doing the right thing?

According to Jesus, evangelism is the right thing to do (Matt. 28).

If I agree with you jimmie, it does not mean I agree with everything you say. The Bible is no different for me. Some things speak to my heart, and other things do not.

Loving people and doing the right thing?
Is that not, what Jesus himself did?

It is. No one is arguing that. However, Jesus also told us to evengelize. Even while He was here, He sent out the 72. It is possible to do both.

Why do you continue to pretend that you do NOT understand our use of the Bible as a source of inspirations from God, jimmie??? Your use of it AS IF it is the very words of God is the blasphemous use! When you do that, you make it EQUAL to God and that is as much idolatry as if you made a Golden Calf EQUAL to God. Jesus is the ONLY Word of God and He abides with us as the Comforter sent in His name to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts." You deny and reject the New Covenant, jimmie, in favor of the Old Covenant "written in ink" and stone. Sad, very sad.

You're cute when you're childishly naive.

You're always cute.

1 Thess. 2

13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

IF you bothered to use logic and reason, jimmie, it would be obvious that the word referred to could NOT be the entire current Bible you revere and idolize. That doesn't mean that SOME part of the Bible isn't what was referred to. When you include it ALL, you err and blaspheme God by making the Bible EQUAL to God.
