This thread is astonishing. Do any of you follow what goes on in India and Pakistan to Christians? Do you have any idea how dangerous their lives are, and even more so for someone who is trying to shepherd new bodies? They are literally willing to DIE for the chance to talk about the gospel. Are any of you willing to lay down your life for ANYONE, much less the Lord?
It's not always about Christians or Christianism, there are other motives for the backlash.

According to Jesus, evangelism is the right thing to do (Matt. 28).
If Paul happens to say one thing someone can agree with, it does not follow that they must take everything he says as "gospel" and correct.
If I agree with you jimmie, it does not mean I agree with everything you say. The Bible is no different for me. Some things speak to my heart, and other things do not.

Is that not, what Jesus himself did?
Nevertheless, there are posters here that use terms like "your bible" and then turn right right around and quote it.

When you do that, you make it EQUAL to God and that is as much idolatry as if you made a Golden Calf EQUAL to God. 13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

IF you bothered to use logic and reason, jimmie, it would be obvious that the word referred to could NOT be the entire current Bible you revere and idolize. That doesn't mean that SOME part of the Bible isn't what was referred to. When you include it ALL, you err and blaspheme God by making the Bible EQUAL to God.
