ok...What about all the alterations in the translation of the Hebrew Scriptures just so it would support the nt writings?...
If current Christians could read with understandings Aramaic, Hebrew, Latin, Greek they would see the alterations for themselves. But since most can't they assume (trust) what they are reading to be correct. We go through nearly the same thing on the other board where the BTs state the Torah is worthless without the Talmud. They accept commentary (implications) over what is written in the Tanakh. If they can do it then so can so the Christians.
Nope...Not implied either...It says nothing of the sort...They "shouted", that is what it says in the original language, Hebrew...So, don't add words to it...
It is implied, which is why most translations translate it that way.
So, no...We do not get the English word "Angel" from the Greek word "Angelos", We get it from the Middle English...And, notice...It means "Messenger"...
We get the English word angel from the Greek word ἄγγελος. The Latin word angelus is from the Greek ἄγγελος. Greek - ἄγγελος, Latin - angelus, English - angel. It all goes back to the Greek.
When two gammas ''γγ'' (the letter 'g' in English) appear together, the first gamma is pronounced as an 'n.' Therefore while ἄγγελος in transliteration is spelled aggelos, it is pronounced as ang'-el-os.
