It is amusing that no matter how many times they are told their definition is wrong they are either to lazy to look it up or they are afraid they will see that their definition is wrong. Then they will have to find another way to insult us.
... omega2xxx don't do it, it's a setup to be eventually maligned by the very same people.
He of all people holds to a mentality that the only standard is that there are no finite definitions.
Say to him ... "about fundamentalism" means to me as is it's "about Christianity" means to you.
In respect to a bible fundamentalist. I believe it's someone who holds the world over a barrel of condemnation, justifying it by using their ideas of what they think the bible is saying.
It seems to me that you think that God sent a set of books to follow instead of His Son, jimmie. Do you believe Jesus instituted a New Covenant or not??? Does Christ abide with us as the Comforter sent in His name to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts?" Can we abide in Him through love of God and each other every day and by repenting when we don't? Do you prefer the Old Covenant "written in ink" and stone in fear of God and avoidance of His wrath and the threat of eternal Hell??? Do you believe that God IS Spirit, that God IS agape love, that God IS Holy and that His Holy Spirit IS agape love?
How do you know how to follow His Son without the Bible as your guide? How can you know anythng in your post if the Bible is not 100% inspired by God? Think about this, Why did God give us 66 books if all we need to know is contained in the paragraph you just posted?
If omega2xx define it then he would be treated no differently than the word Christian is if he refuses to acknowledge anybody else's that goes against his definition.
It is not my definition, I am not smart--now get ready for all the childish playground insults we use to get in the third grade.
Now tell me what is so evil about fundamentalism?

Nothing as long as they apply it to themselves as individuals and do NOT try to force or coerce anyone else. ANY attempt to force or coerce or sanction or shun or otherwise mistreat anyone who they THINK is NOT following what their God wants - THAT is evil. What God wants from us is and must be VOLUNTARY. We are NOT here to enforce God's wishes on anyone but ourselves. When fundamentalists pretend that their efforts are out of love for God when they try to force, coerce, shun, discriminate against, divide or otherwise mistreat others, THEN they are being evil.
Of course---you have added to God's word---shame, shame
evangelicals live for fear. even simple paraphrase sends them running for the comfort of the money changers..
