Psalm 136 verse one "O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."

The dictionary defines mercy as ": kind or forgiving treatment of someone who could be treated harshly".

I am so thankful that the God who created EVERYTHING is a kind, compassionate, merciful God who is slow to anger. We deserve to be treated harshly yet God treats us kindly...His mercy endureth forever!

He saved my soul, O bless His name...Thank you Lord for your son Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal mercy!

we do have it much better than we deserve, huh. we live in a miracle, right now. life has never been better, right now, than at any past date you care to name, by any measure you care to use. even if this seems assailable, it is not, all of the reports of skies falling that might seem to contradict this notwithstanding. God is Good.

Why do you think you deserve to be treated harshly?

And why should I?

Just like Thanksgiving day which the government adopted so people can go and thank the Lord , as this day was put on as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln declared the day after Americas two great wars on home land to Thank the Lord

Trout Dude asked ...Why do I think that I should be treated harshly (by God)...Because I'm just a sinner...saved by God's grace.

Romans 3 v 23 " For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Tell that to all those who are suffering and think they call on the name of the Lord.

God's mercy is not as man thinks.

"It is impossible for man to be saved but everything is possible for god.

Be god and you will live.

"Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."

"Blessed are the merciful, they will be shown mercy."

Have all the merciful been shown mercy? Yes but not as man thinks.

What is mercy by God's definition?

Why do you think that means you, or anyone else, deserves to be treated harshly? When the people you love (like your children, if you have any) screw up and fall short of "glory", are your thoughts and feelings about anger and revenge and treating them harshly, or are they about concern for whomever has been hurt in the process (and that obviously includes the person who is screwing up), compassion for them, and considering how you might help?
