It is not a matter of what words Jesus USED, but what words MEN claim He said...one does not recall a conversation hat was 50 years earlier and write it down accurately and faithfully..

AND if you claim God told them what to write, WHY BOTHER TO WRITE IT DOWN AT ALL WHEN GOD COULD JUST TELL EACH OF US

It is an apt description of Mystic's theology. He has taken a pair of scissors to the letters in red. He does not want to believe that God's holiness has any lasting impact on humankind.

And yet, you claim some of His (written) words are valid?

Jimmie, I would just say, I know what kind of believer you are by your current "status" which is next to your user name. You certainly do cherry pick your "leaders" with no regard for anything resembling godliness. It is very telling, but we already knew you were an authoritarian type believer.

You have the effect of holiness worked out all wrong...... You would agree i am sure that Jesus is the most holy man you have ever known......... That holy man did not cause anyone to be in discomfort with his presence other than the fundamentalist of his day.

Don't come near me i'm holy is a trait of the self righteous. Jesus was known to be a friend to the sinners.

They are ENCOURAGING and deliver a message of MERCY, JUSTICE and LOVE. Just like The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran provides encouragement and shares a message of MERCY, JUSTICE and LOVE..

When read logically, one realizes that a book that quotes others cannot be based on TOTAL and ABSOLUTE facts unless there is an ORIGINAL to prove the words are valid. So what the reasonable mind is left with is writings by people who might be familiar with the events through generations of oral history that eventually was written down. Then those first generation stories (written 50--200 years after the fact) get rewritten and the story changes again--then along the way some people with self-proclaimed status and stolen wealth decide to "edit" the 3rd or 4th generation of writing to justify their world view (much like Constantine and King James had done) and the story is yet a different point of view.

What you refuse to acknowledge is IF God has such an active role in creating this bible, why has it changed, why are there arguments over the translation of some words and why does the same "original" word get translated into 2,3 or sometimes 5 times with different meanings within the bible itself?

Whenever one takes the "MY BIBLE RIGHT OR WRONG" attitude, they are always going to fail the objective test--society has been told for centuries that the bible is not to be questioned and that the only real way to understand it is to be in a church where MEN who all studied the SAME commentaries would regurgitate what they were told to tell the masses..

Just as we do with children in school today--tell everyone what to think, never HOW to think and eventually everyone is thinking the same and we have killed the individual and stomped all over FREE WILL....

“You often say ; I would give , but only to the deserving, The trees in your orchard say not so , nor the flocks in your pasture.
Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and nights is worthy of all else from you.
And he who has deserved to drink from the ocean of life deserves to fill his cup from your little stream. See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver , and an instrument of giving.
For in truth it is life that gives unto life-while you , who deem yourself a giver , is but a witness.”
― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,
and weep, but not all of your tears. Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

THE PROPHET

“And a woman spoke, saying, "Tell us of Pain."
And he said: Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the
Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.”

― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

It is the Hebrew concept of "holy" that Jesus came to correct, most notably in the parable of "the good Samaritan."
