Doesn't this story sound a little strange? Wouldn't there have been some record of this type of wealth in the small nation of Israel if it had been true? Or even if it had had a kernel of truth?

Do you really believe this story was factual?
If such an earthly temple is so richly adorned how much more the spiritual temple of God?..... Know you not you are the temple of God?....... If we could only just see the value of who we really are and how wonderfully we really are adorned, rather than sin infested ruined temple the sin conscious religious mind would have us believe we are.

Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

We are those ancient doors.

Yes, Fort Knox fills a small pool, and we are just one out of 200 countries.

Moderator cut: deleted 1) "The Vatican" (and what do you mean by that term anyway? St Peter's Basilica?) isn't "covered with a load of gold", and 2) considering there wasn't any "Israel" between A.D. 70 and A.D. 1948, it wasn't possible to "steal" anything from it.

You've never been to the Vatican have you? The Billions of dollars that adorns it's walls. The unknown amount hidden in it's vaults. The Roman plundering that goes back centuries.

How rich is the Vatican? So wealthy it can stumble across millions of euros just 'tucked away'

You have no clue what means do you???

Not to mention the plundering it did during WW2 of the riches of the Jews (they didn't help spirit away the SS for nothing), much like the Swiss banks who had to be sued to release money to the victim's heirs. Peace
