One of the nagging questions I always had was if the disciples were in the know on the crucifixion why weren't they all gathered there waiting at the tomb 3 days later. Simple answer is always look in the book and it's right here........
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time
31 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. 32 He will be delivered over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him and spit on him; 33 they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
34 The disciples did NOT understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
They were plainly told what was going on but were divinely blocked from understanding because they would have gone into a frenzy if they understood.......just God at work......
no It just proves minds of mankind don't have faith, some times even with proof their minds won't believe it ..
been there done that always doing that.. . no matter how determined you are "to believe" and "have faith" sometimes it just doesn't happen in there . and sometimes the tiniest things can give you great faith...
for them the one who raised men from the dead was gone.. and they were hopeless and in shock and mourning. profound mourning and that is a time they will not remember and know if he overcame death in Lazareth that he could do it for himself also.
but maybe they didn't think it through that much YET because they were in shock and horror of all they had seen ! .
I know when i am tested it takes me weeks even months sometimes to come around to a better understanding and get a hint of faith and even more time sometimes years to get faithful in it .
and three days isn't much time to even mourn properly for a lost friend and sadness of that beating and all it it was so horrific even if they had faith he would raise from the dead .. they didn't have that much time to think through those choices that their heart is making with or without their head understand even what is going on around them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BImN_Cj1Ze and cool video about the times after the crucifixion. He brings into this the feelings of the the disciples after even the resurrection and brings into focus and from into interesting comparisons.
Maybe because He intended for particular types of women to be the first to see the risen Lord....like one who had birthed Him and one who had 7 devils (fullness of darkness) cast out of her. Peace

Woman are natural messengers/ambassadors of goodwill who first witnessed his Resurrection. A disciple is one who learns from a teacher, while an apostle is sent to deliver those teachings or the message. Much like that of Mary (Magdalene) of Magdala.

An attribute can be a mere willingness or readiness to do something.
They were also not next to him during crucifixion.
Only women were.
Men immediately lost their faith. But that is male mind at work, that is how it has to be. Male, logical mind, has little trust and faith.
Faith was strong as far as it was fed with miracles and devine presence. So why bother, if "god" is crucified? He could raise dead from the grave, surely, he can overcome something as trivial as crucifixion? And if he did not - then what kind of god is he? They felt betrayed. Their faith shattered.
But a female mind is of the heart. It is of love and trust. Those women loved Jesus, loved Christ. To them, there was no doubt who he is. No logical stipulations. They had their hearts opened to Him.
This is why the first to see Him resurrected was a female. As female heart accepts through feeling, not through logical proof. Christ walked with disciples for long time after resurrection yet, they did not see him. Mary came to them, while they were sitting there, figuring mundane affairs after his death, and told them - he is alive! He is back! But what she heard - mad woman, how can that be? You imagining things....
And this is a great lesson to anyone who wants to follow dead scrolls. Disciples faith was there only in their Master presence. He was gone for few days - took a short vacation - and their faith melted away instantly. Took major effort to convince them again..
So how do you expect His teaching to be live and working, with Him gone for centuries?
