Okay. So here's the new list.

(1)genetic modification;
(2) human experimentations;
(3) polluting the environment;
(4) social injustice;
(5) causing poverty;
(6) financial gluttony;
(7) taking drugs.

My thinking tells me these things are already addressed by the Bible. This is just off the top of my head, as I didn't really study for this post, but basically:

1 & 2 = I'll have to look into these two a bit before commenting. (But see #7 for some thoughts)
3 = Stewardship of the earth that God gave us since Genesis. We are to be good stewards.
4 = Jesus taught extensively about taking care of the poor and sick and "lesser"
5 = Jesus also taught about loving your neighbor, if you have two of something, give one to someone in need, etc.
6 = Jesus also taught about greed and the love of money.
7 = The bible teaches us and Jesus taught that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (once we accept Jesus) and should be treated as such.

So basically, it's a concise list regarding what Jesus and/or the scriptures already teach upon. The Vatican just bringing it to the foreground isn't necessarily a bad thing. IMO, Christians should already be familiar with most of the teachings covered by this list. If not, this will help them learn about these topics more.

how does the "church" define 'taking drugs' ??illegal....for recreation....for purpose of mind altering.....
then it would be the same as being drunk on wine.
