I have read the New American Standard Bible, The New King James Version, and the American Standard Version. Though I started off reading the NIV84, which is no longer found on biblegateway.com, I commonly use the King James Version though I also use the English Standard Version as well.

I do basically prefer the King James Version most of the time though I will use other translations once in a while so therefore most often I read the King James Version.

The New World Translation is in today English. It takes away the old wordage, as in the KJV, and makes concentrating on the word easier.

I prefer the version that is directly from the original source. Eliminates the errors and deliberate additions and it is so much easier to understand exactly what God is wanting of us.

<snip>
The word, "Jehovah", is mentioned several times at least in the Old Testament in the King James Version and it also appears in the 1901 American Standard Version.

I use the NWT the most for it's references and it takes the best from all other Bible translations as well as focus on the message of God.

Yet I many times use biblehub.com to view a passage in many translations to get a better understanding. Like Proverbs 6:19 describes things that God hates. There are many different translations but I find that the NIV captures it the best.

...things that the LORD hates... a person who stirs up conflict in the community." Proverbs 6:16-19 (NIV)

Others at Biblehub.com: Proverbs 6:19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Some translate 'in the community' as among brothers or family members. I think the NIV captures the true meaning of the message.

Most of my study and reading is the ESV, but I do preach from the NASB. I use it because I have not been able to find a large-print ESV that I like. I prefer to use a large print Bible to preach out of -- it's just easier to look down and find the text in a moment when I'm preaching.

I'd encourage you to find one that more accurately renders the text. The NASB is a great one to use.

"Da Jesus Book" which is the New Testament translated into Hawaiian pidgin. The word "heaven" is translated as "God's beautiful place". Awesome.

I mostly use NASB for it's accuracy. Also use ESV, NKJV and The Message.
