I find the need to believe in Jesus to be saved a big contradiction to the quote because those are beliefs based on self-righteous and bigotry.

Then, your religion really is secular humanism and self righteousness.
Nothing to do with Christianity.

Belief in Jesus is crucial, because apart from Him, we have no righteousness.
It is only by His Grace, that we are saved, and all He asks is Faith.

That is what God, who created you, said through His Son, Jesus.
If you have a problem with that, take it up with Him.

good works is not for salvation but for rewards and for gaining faith .. more faith.. you can't have enough faith in his workings and his ways and his plans and promises ..

that is just what you think.. He is God of the living , and you wouldn't believe it if you saw one of them . so he doesn't show anyone. but they are here now too. they are making the way strait and level , making the paths for the church to follow.
