Since God thought it important enough to include prophecy in the Bible then prophesy is a legitimate part of God's word and should not be ignored or dismissed. To say that you don't care about prophecy is to say that you don't care about that part of God's word. While the believer should live one day at a time he is also to live in the light of eternity.

As for the past, knowing history enriches the present. In my opinion at least.

Knowing history (and the past) is fine, useful etc. But the heart of prophesy is not in the past/history; it's caught up in the future. Some seem aimlessly bogged down in prophesy, and it becomes a strumbling block to them, as they perpetually put everything under the microscope for study, while ignoring the present moments constantly passing by them, ignored.

The fact that some people over emphasize prophecy does not invalidate the fact that prophecy is a part of God's word and that He put it there for a reason. And that reason was not for it to be ignored.

2 Timothy 3:16 ALL scripture is God breathed and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

You say you could care less about prophecy. Okay, that's you. There are others who share your view. But since prophecy is a part of God's word, I myself choose to pay attention to it.

Why do Christians use the Old Testament or the Hebrew Bible?

As example, let's look at Zechariah 14:12-19

12 This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 On that day people will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another. 14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—great quantities of gold and silver and clothing. 15 A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.

16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. 18 If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord[b] will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.

There is lots of rain in Egypt, Romans didn't have their eyes rot in their sockets, and clearly animals did not suffer from this plague.

Jordan is fine, Saudi Arabia lives well, Syria has been around since before Jerusalem, etc. etc. Of course, some may argue that this is a metaphorical chapter and series of verses, but that would still raise the question, "When is the bible metaphorical and when is it literal?".
That IS IN FACT, Messiah coming on the feast of Tabernacles. Messiah came for the spring rains, and the rain of spirit did fall, but that rain of spirit has come and gone as it was prophesied to do. The rain promised on Shemini Atzeret is BOTH rains together .The spring rain and the fall rain will fall in double portion, and what Zechariah is insinuating is that if you aren't already keeping the feast of Tabernacles, YOU DIE. On the 8th day of the feast of Tabernacles, a flood of rain is promised to fall on Judah, and everyone in Judah becomes holy, but if you are a Christian who has been fighting the ways of Jerusalem and the people of Judah, your eyes will melt in your head before you hit the ground. Zechariah 14 is a chapter completely devoted to the feast of Tabernacles and it's 8th day conclusion day called an Atzeret, Pentecost was the Atzeret of Passover, it concluded Passover where all the gifts are given as promised.

We live a Passover lifestyle dying daily so that the rain of God falls on our head softly as we learn the word of God and there are 42 months appointed for this walk, no matter if it takes decades, once a person realizes and then begins to walk, it is 42 months as being the sower and sowing the seed given in the first harvest.

After a person has walked his 42 months in Ephraim, he is then given the smallest of seeds ever, but although the seed of spirit is so small, once it receives the rain, it grows into a great tree that many build their nests under, many will come and find shade and sustenance in their words and they have become a tree of the feast of Tabernacles, as a lone tree standing amongst a field of grass as most people are just the grass.

He has become a tree of Tabernacles and the congregation will bring in the holy trees lifted up on their shoulders when Tabernacles takes place.

The fire that comes and is an ever consuming fire is not a bomb, it is not hand man made, but it is the fire of the Lord just as the rain is the spirit of the Lord. The Lord will enter within all people and the fire will test them to see what sort of work they have built, and if their work will not stand, they will watch as their work burns, and they also burn but are saved but only as one who goes through a fire.

The Coming Day of Judgment
1"Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming," says the LORD of hosts. 2"But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap.…

The spirit of Elijah is not sent to a Jew, it is specific to Gentiles, and the spirit of Elijah will come to the gentile to prepare the way before the Lord, but woe is that person with child or weaning children in that day, because if they are found with child, they die, it is that child they are raising as a house on a sure foundation.

Elijah can come at any time when a person begins his 7 year trek. The coming of Elijah is written for every person born, for every generation, for every person who walks and receives the spirit of Elijah that brings him back with respect to the Law and the prophets. Elijah is sent to Ahab and Jezebel, he is sent to those pagan Christians to turn them back to Jerusalem, and to Judah, and to repent of their paganism and disrespect, but after a Gentile has returned in the spirit of Elijah, he is waiting on the coming of the Lord, and the fire of the spirit because the Lord is a refining fire, a spirit of fire, and where the flood of water killed so many in the first rain, a flood of fire is now coming for the second rain, and who can stand in this day?

Jesus's ministry could only have lasted 3 and a half years for a very good reason, Jesus came fulfilling all the sacrifices for all Holy days, but that is just the sacrifices, for instance. Jesus died as a ram of Shavuot{Pentecost} but just because Jesus died as a ram on Pentecost doesn't mean Pentecost is fulfilled and done away with. Jesus died as a Passover lamb on Passover, but this didn't end things, he was planted and then raised up on Nisan 17th as a firstfruit, and for 49 days the disciples counted the omer, and then they were personally warned to keep counting the omer and to stay in prayer in expectation of the Promise of Passover Atzeret, Passover's conclusion day where the gift of the Holy spirit was given as yet another prophesy. Those disciples were warned that this was the Pentecost of Pentecosts, and the saints are also PROMISED a warning before the conclusion day of the feast of Tabernacles comes.

Jesus was all the sacrifices on Nisan 14, but this could not have possibly happened unless the prophets had already foretold the changing of God's holy days where each of the sacrifices and the laws of those sacrifices were all moved to one single day on Nisan 14. On Nisan 14th, we say the Passover lamb, the ram of Shavuot, the goat of Yom Kippur, the Sukkot Bull, and the red heifer.

All of this HAD TO BE POROPHESIED, OR IT WOULD NOT HAVE MEANT ANYTHING AT ALL.

Ezekiel CHANGED all the Holy days, and it was Ezekiel 45 that moved the feast of Tabernacles to Nisan 14, Ezekiel had moved the Pentecost to Nisan 14th, Ezekiel had moved Yom Kippur to Nisan 14, and Ezekiel had moved the sacrifice of the red heifer to Nisan 14.

Unless Ezekiel 45 had done this, it would have meant nothing for Jesus to have done all these things UNLESS IT WAS ALREADY SPOKEN, UNLESS IT WAS ALREADY PROPHESY AND EXPECTED TO HAPPEN, AND HAPPEN IT DID.

The great and most important thing that Ezekiel writes in his ENTIRE BOOK is the one thing that nobody is seeing.

Jesus being ALL the sacrifices on Nisan 14 was the greatest thing that had ever been prophesied and the greatest thing that has ever come true IN PART.

That prophesy of Ezekiel changing the Holy days and moving all the Holy days to Nisan 14 is ONLY THE FIRST HALF OF THE PROPHESY. ABEIT THE GREATEST THING IN THE BIBLE WHERE ALL THE HOLY DAYS TOOK PLACE ON ONE SINGLE DAY IN ONE FELL SWOOP OF KILLING EVERY SACRIFICE, PEOPLE ARE NOT READING THE REST OF THE PROPHESY AND THE GREATEST PART OF A TWO PART PROPHESY.

YES, YES, YES, JESUS WAS ALL THE SACRIFICES WHERE HE DIED AS ALL THE SACRIFICES ON NISAN 14, BUT NOT ONLY THIS.

All the particular laws of each sacrifice had to be seen and played out for EVERYONE to see that all the particulars of each law was followed.......FOR INSTANCE, The sacrifice cannot be strangled, and so Judas could not have hung himself because the laws of sacrifice is that you take the intestines out and those intestines have to be seen and viewed for their intent, and Judas played this role........The head has to be cut off and viewed by the authority to judge it's intent also, and so John's head HAD to come off as well as anyone who would follow Jesus, THEY MUST BE BEHEADED.

And on Yom Kippur, THEIR MUST HAVE BEEN an escape goat, and Barabbas HAD TO BE THE MAN SET FREE. Those that don't know this, ''BARABBAS,''' is the EXACT SAME NAME AS JESUS. The Name of Barabbas is,'' Jesus, SON OF GOD.''

All of this looks backwards at a two part prophesy, and the first part of this change in the law, change in the holy days, Jesus dying as all the sacrifices IS JUST THE FIRST PART OF A TWO PART PROPHESY WHERE THE SECOND PART OF THIS PROPHESY HAS YET TO BE FULFILLED AND WHEN IT IS FULFILLED, IT IS THE GREATEST PART OF A TWO PART PROPHESY.

Jesus dying as all the sacrifices on Nisan 14 with all the Holy days being moved to Nisan 14 is NOTHING COMPARED TO THE SECOND PART OF THIS ONGOING PROPHESY.

WHEN THE SECOND PART OF THIS PROPHESY IS FULLFILLED, IT WILL MAKE THE STORY OF THE PASSOVER OF JESUS LOOK LIKE NOTHING, PEOPLE WILL NO LONGER SPEAK OF THE FIRST, THEY WILL SPEAK OF THE LAST.

Ezekiel's change in the law and the feast days putting all sacrifices on Nisan 14th
>>>Ezekiel 45 LOOK, LOOK, LOOK, LOOK~ Jesus dying as all sacrifices on NISAN 14th<<
18Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary: 19And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20And so thou shalt do the seventh day of the month for every one that erreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye reconcile the house.
21In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten. 22And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering. 23And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering. 24And he shall prepare a meat offering of an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and an hin of oil for an ephah.

>>>Ezekiel 45 LOOK, LOOK,LOOK,LOOK~ JESUS DYING AS ALL SACRIFICES ON TISHRI15<<<

Jesus came and fulfilled his walk in the spring given to each man to walk 42 months in his spring walk and Jesus did this perfectly, but there is still 3 and a half years left of Jesus's walk

Ezekiel 45 ~ the greatest prophesy that we are waiting on~~~~>>>>>>
25In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.

But the 42 months of the spring walk is NOTHING compared to the 3 and a half years left to be finished in the fall Holy days which are coming, which will be the greatest prophesies EVER FUFILLED and then there is Shemini Atzeret, and if you are not familiar with this name, it is the 8th day of Sukkot, it is the conclusion day of not only the fall holy days, IT CONCLUDES THE ENTIRE YEAR, AND THE RAIN OF BOTH SEASONS FALL ON YOUR HEAD.

Zechariah 14 The Feast Of Tabernacles
The Destroyers of Jerusalem Destroyed

1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Tishri 15th
6And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

8And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
10All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. 11And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

12And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

13And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour. 14And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. 15And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
All Nations will Worship the King ~ This Rain is fire ~ IT IS FIRE OF SPIRIT ~ It isn't speaking of rain for your crops, it is speaking of the seed you have inside you and whether or not that seed receives the rain of the Lord in order to die and bear fruit.
16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
20In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

Try and understand what is coming on Tishri 15th where once again ALL SACRIFICES MUST BE KILLED AS PROPHESIED IN THE SECOND HALF OF EXEKIEL'S PRPHESY CONCERNING MESSIAH ON NISAN 14, AND TISHRI 15.

ON TISHRI 15TH, WE WILL WITNESS THINGS THAT MAKE YOU FORGET ABOUT NISAN 14TH, THIS IS THE SECOND HALF OF JESUS OWN PERSONAL COVENANT OF 7 YEARS THAT MUST BE FULFILLED INSIDE HIS FOLLOWERS

If you don't know the law very well, and you don't know the Temple and it's comings and goings, what Ezekiel does here is very important, and Ezekiel's temple is a symbolic temple that is not made with hands. But those who know the laws and the comings and goings of the temple know that Ezekiel has moved all the Holy days to Passover. Ezekiel effectively moved all the Holy days to Nisan 14th. and unless Ezekiel had done this, the sacrifices of Jesus would have meant nothing, but all the sacrifices AND EVEN EACH DETAIL OF EACH SACIFICE HAD TO BE PLAYED OUT ONJ NISAN 14.

Understand the significance of what Ezekiel did in putting all the sacrifices to one single sacrifice, and HOW IT MUST HAVE BEEN PROPHESIED IN ORDER FOR JESUS TO FULFILL IT.

NOW UNDERSTAND THE GREATEST SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SECOND HALF OF THIS PROPHESY PLAYING OUT AT THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS FOR THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES.

UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THOSE EVENTS OF NISAN 14 WERE, AND THEN DOUBLE THAT IMPORTANCE AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE SAME THING IS APPOINTED FOR THE FUTURE ON TISHRI 15 IN HIS BRIDE.

JESUS MUST FINISH HIS 7 YEARS, AND HIS SECOND COMING IS FINSIHED IN YOU.

Ezekiel 45
The First coming of Jesus on Nisan 14, all sacrifices killed.{The Spring First coming}

The second coming of Jesus where all the sacrifices will be killed on Tishri 15.{The Fall}
25In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.

On Tishri 15th, Jesus will enter into the second half of his 7 years, and he does this THROUGH his brides.

Jesus walked his 42 months as a man, and now he will finish the rest of his 7 years within his bride and what we saw take place in Jerusalem then, we will see take place all over the globe when it happens again.

The Marriage, the consummation, the wedding feast, the birth from the consummation, and then the final day comes on Shemini Atzeret, the circumcision of the child from that consummation will circumcise the flesh off of a firstfruit, IT IS FIRSFRUITS.

Knowing the law and the prophets like the back of your hand, study to show yourself approved, learn the comings and going of your own master and his appointed visitation days and each thing the priest does on these appointed visitation days, and you might just know your master, or what will the spirit do at all? If you don't know the scriptures like the back of your hand, how will the spirit lead you into truth if there is nothing to work with? Paul was always so angry and perplexed at the people he taught personally. They were so lazy in studying the law and the prophets that he greatly wondered at them because they had yet to be born again after decades of learning by the disciples themselves. Paul said that they were his babies until some far off future when Christ might just be formed inside them, but as it was in his day, he was angry and perplexed because they didn't know the law and the prophets, they didn't know anything but at least Paul taught them the times and the seasons so that Christ could not come upon them as a thief and that is much more than most Christians can brag of, Christians today still don't know the times and seasons of God, and they still don't know the law and the prophets, still babies yet to be formed, and that is the sad truth. No spiritual baby will inherit the Zoe Kingdom because of logic. God is raising up sons as priests, and when they mature, they inherit great and mighty unlimited power and God simply cannot give such a power to an immature baby.

If there is truly a God of Israel, then people should be studying 18 hours a day no matter what it takes, it is the only thing that matters because every single baby of the church will be killed with death and all the churches will know it, and we are talking about spiritual children that all Christians are pregnant with. If they neglect that child by refusing it the milk of the word, and then they starve that child by never giving that child the meat of the seasons, then the child will be killed, and there the bride will stand next to a dead child and a groom that is none too happy.
