I like his lectures. I want to listen to his psychological take on the stories in the bible. I've heard some of them and they are interesting. The human condition and why humans do what they do.

Who is Jordan Petersen, and why should we care what he or she says?

The article gives an introduction to who he is and what he does. A short excerpt for any interested:
"Peterson holds that scripture is an unimaginably ancient and profound source of wisdom refined through the ages from the collective human imagination. Through time, these ancient stories have been shorn of all superfluity so that each phrase is saturated with meaning. Any story retold for thousands of years captures something enduring about the human condition."

Personally, I get the impression that he goes way overboard in reaching for meaning, but, hey a wild imagination can be fun.

In other words, another Johnny-Come-Lately-on-the-scene with his/her personal twist to things, passed off as revelation. Got it.

No, revelation has nothing to do with it. Using scholarly analysis does. How far one may take elements of that analysis is in question to me, but the idea is valid.

Based on the OP, I'm guessing he is probably affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, and is in line with their teachings. So, it's probably from a Catholic perspective.

He is a new pop speaker that appeals mostly to the far right. At least that is what I heard about him on a podcast I listen to, so that is 2nd hand information. The only reason I had ever heard of him was because he got mentioned on a liberal podcast due to his rising popularity. What they said about him was that he speaks in great generalities in a complicated sounding way to make it sound new and interesting, but basically says things people already know and understand for the most part. He must be charismatic because a lot of people enjoy listening to him.

I've read up on him, but do not have enough information yet to form a strong opinion of him. Some details looked okay, others not. I see nothing special or revelatory from his output. He looks too into and swayed by the field of psychology. The few books he's written look uninteresting and possibly sensationalistic.
