Genesis 3:22-24 - 22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"-- 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.
Now that Adam and Eve had known evil through their sin (which is different from God who knows evil without sinning), if they had eaten from the tree of life and lived forever - they would be in God's presence in a state of sin, which would not have been good for them. So in their best interest, He removed them from their presence.
East of the garden.....the whole garden is His....the garden is represented by the Tabernacle of Moses, especially the Holy of Holies. Just east of that was a veil with cherubims woven into it's very fabric of being. Spiritually speaking, this veil is formed by the eating of the showbread (experiences of the 12 tribe's and their natures) with the light of the candlestick (Christ in you, the hope of glory). Cherubims are imaginations or imaginary images (we are to be RE-formed into His image, because He will not give His glory unto another image), who in this case were given power through the sword of the Spirit, the Word, to prevent man from entering in apart from G-d calling him, so that no man can say, "Look at what I did".
What that means is, He deliberately has allowed imaginations to be woven into the veil that is Christ in you, until such time that He shows you that YOU CAN'T GET IN (you in Christ = glory) WITH THE "RIGHT" DOCTRINE, which is why Rav Shaul said at that point, I know nothing but Christ and Him crucified, because that is the foundation of our faith, the ONLY thing that is cherubim free. If ANY man think he standeth, take care lest he fall. Blessings....

Yup, that would never do! Do you think an overcomer (mentioned 7 x in the Revelation) needs to go thru the flaming swords of the Lord in order to "eat" of the Tree of Life?
"If you can hear, listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. I will allow those who emerge victorious to eat from the tree of life, which is in God's paradise."

Not sure about going through the flaming swords... but all believers/overcomers will go through a judgment of fire (1 Corinthians 3:10-15) based on the deeds done on earth.

Not just believers, or "overcomers." Everyone is judged - believer, or non.

There is only one way to eat of the Tree of Life, one must make his/her way through angelic beings with flaming swords swirling in every direction. I hate to disclose the cost of such a meal, but one will never be the same again!
Can you demonstrate how you have determined believers/ overcomers are one? Are all believers overcomers?

A God who knows evil...!? ...oh my!, even though the presumption is obviously 'without sin', that has to be pretty close to blasphemy. ...I suppose I jest - I don't take it seriously, perhaps and hopefully because I appreciate there's no such thing as blasphemy, except in the heart of the judgemental.
This just shows how far the sin narrative gets pushed by a literal and dare I say carnal mindset. Just how much other nonsense have we projected onto Abba.
May I ask a question then (?):. How much death does life know? - A little bit, most of it, or none at all...?
Hi there Trout, I am glad you are my friend! You are of course correct, and I for one have absolute confidence in the Judge!
Can't have too many friends.
However, I don't want to leave you with a mistaken impression. I don't think we are judged by a god. We judge ourselves. But we do so stripped of rationalizations and mealy-mouthed, self-exculpatory excuses. It won't be a pleasant experience for most.
