Richard1965, Matthew 1:23 is not a mistranslation of Isaiah 7:14. It is a reinstatement of Isaiah 7:14.
No, it was an intentional mistranslation of Isaiah. That's what all the NT writers did with their OT quotes. They reinterpreted them in light of their understanding of Jesus.
It IS a mistranslation from how Judaism understood Isaiah in its original context. And it was entirely intentional.

well correct, as said in the Jesus vs Son of God topic,
2 Thessalonians 2:10 "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2 Thessalonians 2:12 "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
now of day it's a miss translation, that's the excuse, tommorrow it will be another excuse. ..... LOL. oh yes, it's a miss alright, like in missing the TRUTH. oh well, the Lake awaits.
The rest of us created in the image of our parents..........yes we are....
No we are not. We bear their image outwardly and are shapened by and in image they have of life. You are not that which you look at in the mirror surely as a christian you must know this ?.
Only fundies take it literally. Other Christians are more educated.
TroutDude,
What did you really mean in your quote above? Are you stating that pseudo-christians that take the two contradicting Creation stories in Genesis literally, are not as educated as the ones that do not take it literally?
Furthermore, if you personally do not take the creation narratives literally, then where do you get this ungodly authority? Can you cite godly references to this position without opinions?

.
LOL.
My "godly" references are education and common sense, qualities lacking in most fundies.
