Jesus did not denigrate hierarchy. He denigrated the imposition of man-made laws by the hierarchy. He himself was part of the hierarchy, preaching in the temple as a rabbi. He instituted his own hierarchy, he being leader over the apostles who were over the disciples.
He also told his followers to give to Caesar what is Ceasar’s. Was Caesar not part of a hierarchy?
Believers can't even get together and agree on what that even means. Because of that it should be thrown out.
We already have scripture. Read it, study it, and pray for understanding. Repeat daily.
Why not try something else that might work, instead of repeating the same mistakes? Try spending time with people different from you, in their environment. Walk a half-a-block in their sandals instead of pontificating from a mouldy old book from your suburban, 4-bedroom ranch in the valley.

He specifically said that anyone who wants to be first among them would be last and he washed their feet to point out that even He was not the head or first among them. In fact, the Catholics turned it into a ritual for the Pope to become Pope. Talk about missing the point!

Being humble and being a leader are not mutually exclusive. This was a major theme of Jesus’ teachings. Jesus is refered to as King, Lord, Christ, Master, etc. Many Popes have taken a vow of poverty and/or have no earthly possessions.
