I just looked back and the post to which I responded does not appear to be an attempt to hijack the thread at all. It was a direct answer to a claim you made. If it wasn't your point that Christians are somehow special, then please clarify, because that's how I read it, too.
Since the assertion was that Christians with the Holy Spirit are immune to demonic possession but others are NOT, that is an "us vs them" spin to the topic. It is NOT off topic.

No...the topic of the thread is a question of people going to hell. Christians don't go to hell. It really isn't intended as an "us vs. them"...I don't even know who "them" or "us" is as you suggest. Really...you're finding some weird combative issue where it doesn't exist.
The Bible teaches that Christians can't be possessed...that's all I meant.

If that is all you meant, then you would not have implied or made the comparison.
As a side note Father Malachi Martin based his book "Hostage to the Devil" on those concepts. True possession, as opposed to harassment, only occurs when an individual willfully invites the demonic in. It should be noted, however, that the "invitation" does not have to be direct and is also very difficult to retract.
In addition, Martin differentiated between Possession (very rare) and "Perfect Possession" (even more rare)when the individual is not only possessed, but is fully accepting of the possession. Such people are said to be in the active service of the demonic and are themselves, fully evil and cannot be excorcized (sp).
Father whoever here, is discounting the power of God. ANYONE, even Hitler, everyone's favorite go to guy for total evil, CAN be delivered of demons. The blood of Christ was not shed in vain. What is required, is REPENTANCE. Blessings....
