They are doing good works, but those works don't save. Works are the fruit of a soul who has been saved by GRACE.
Ephesians 2
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
I can never figure out why people who completely reject anything from the Bible want to participate in a Christianity forum?
A lot of the people here don’t reject everything from the bible, the bible is a spiritual book that is not to be read literally ....... if anything does not gel with the spirit you are reading it with your literal eyes not your spiritual eyes. A lot of the things in the bible are not literal history but are things written as allegory and example to be lined up with what they are pointing to.
Trout seems to have a pretty good idea which parts in the bible are not literal.
James 2:19 actually says, ''even the demons believe.'' But the context is that the demons believe that God is one. They do not believe that Jesus died for their sins, which indeed He didn't. Christ died for mankind. Not for the demons, and not for the fallen angels. Jesus had to become a man, a human being, in order to die a substitutionary death for mankind.
And yes, salvation is by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. It is not on the basis of works.
While engaged in open air preaching, Team Jesus Preachers expound on the topic of being saved by grace and not by works. These warriors for Jesus are on the front lines in battle. God bless.
By works I assume you mean doing good deeds and kind actions. So, if a person with a compassionate, kind, loving heart who does works because its simply who they are, their nature to do so, just what exactly do they need to be saved from?

Hmm, where does it talk about fallen angels in the Tanakh?..
