And you might be one of them. It plainly says Jesus took away the sins of the WORLD but folks have a hard time with that. But getting your sins forgiven is not salvation, only the first part of it. Jesus had to take sins off the table in order to save us eternally, any sin held against us would nullify eternal life.

1Jn 2:2 He is the propitiation (payment) for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

The second part of the equation is we must BELIEVE and trust Jesus Christ to be the truth and the life and in that light to believe the Gospel HE REVEALED to Paul in 1Cor 15: 1-4.........reject this gospel and you never see heaven.

1Co 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,
1Co 15:2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
1Co 15:4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

This simple gospel most of you have not seen or heard from the major evangelists or the football stadium preachers, because they either don't know it, haven't been taught it, or just ignore it. The denominational seminary must not teach it, I've been in many denoms over the last 40 years and never heard it once.

The next hurdle is all the people who think they will have to clean up their act before Jesus will accept them, not true, He will accept you right where you are. Think of the thief on the cross who was guaranteed heaven by Jesus himself, he surely didn't clean up..........you don't have to either. Jesus will do that later after salvation and the Holy Spirit comes to live INSIDE you........you get clean from the inside out.

The next group to come against you is the crowd thinking you can lose that salvation, also NOT TRUE. Your sins are gone and the HOLY SPIRIT now living in you is the DOWN PAYMENT on eternity from Jesus Himself. Once salvation is granted by your faith and belief the power of God cannot be undone by anyone, even you.

WARNING: This gospel eliminates the middle man and you will be really unpopular with the legalists who will tell you that keeping the law and the commandments etc are necessary just like in Paul's day.......don't buy it, the gospel stands and means exactly what it says.

So go out and have a great day with the Creator and Savior of the universe who will save YOU right where you're at for all eternity..........you may not feel anything.......doesn't matter, your Bible is your contract with the living God and assures you of what you have, which is much more than I have put in this post here.........Jesus is waiting to welcome you into the fold..........

If I may add on... about the WHY believing the gospel is absolutely necessary.

It's not because belief in itself tangibly does anything... but it's God's response to belief in the gospel that's important.
Ephesians 1:13-14 - In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

Titus 3:4-6 - But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
We are given the Holy Spirit from God. The Holy Spirit washes and regenerates our spirit.

We have to remember that we are physically and spiritually born separate from God and unclean in His sight. Even with the death of Christ and His payment for sin, we remain dead and unclean to God. But when we believe in the gospel of Christ, God responds by sending to us the Holy Spirit who cleanses our spirits and makes us able to connect with God.

Also, it's at the moment we put our trust or faith in Jesus that God imputes or credits Jesus' perfect righteousness to us which makes us acceptable to God. Paul devotes Romans 3 through 5 on this.

No matter how good our righteousness is humanly speaking, it can never be acceptable to God. That is why He credits the perfect righteousness of Christ to us when we place our faith in him.

Thank you Drob4JC excellent additions and much appreciated.......there are hundreds more we could use but the basic thing we need is that gospel of grace.........it's what Jesus wants us to know about Him.......looking forward to eternity with you...........

Andrew Wommack is a famous evangelist and teaches this as well. God isn't counting our sins against us because Christ paid the death penalty for it! By teaching that you can lose your salvation and always be in danger of hell, these teachers have destroyed the good news and replaced it with fear.

The Bible teaches that there is only one unforgivable sin. Complete internal rejection of Christ. So it makes sense that this is the only way you could go to hell, not by committing one too many sins.

God provides the sacrifice. God provides the means by which we are cleansed. He promises to never leave those who are His. We have no power to negate what God has done.

Now - we will be subject to a specific judgment of what we have done - but our position of salvation with God is set in stone.

did God create sin(s), only to have to take them away from us?
What is sin? what is evil? did God create evil?

The debt was for those who were under the law, but failed to live by it.
It has nothing to do with the gentiles who want to cover their own sin.
