Reminds me of the supporters of the Vatican 2 mass after last week's papal decree. All the gripe about Latin, priest back to the congregation, etc. and extolling understanding the Mass in your native tongue/English, priest facing the people, etc.
Then they go on a cruise from Venice. They are staying in a hotel on the mainland near the airport. It's Sunday and the small town only has one church and no mass in English (Italian only).
All that enthusiasm about vernacular mass faded after being forced to attend one of the Italian morning masses! Very awkward having to blend in with the locals; they would have been able to blend in at the Tridentine Mass by downloading the missalette on their phone/tablet.
Though I doubt these Anglophiles would ever dare venture outside of the Anglosphere! (They are really closet xenophobes.) It's easy to live in a small world with America stretching across a continent (along with neighboring majority Anglophone Canada) and have a smaller worldview.
