Many people misunderstand this quote...The key words are, "Give Caesar WHAT IS HIS, and To God, WHAT IS HIS"...

In other words, Caesar should ONLY get what is his to ask for, same thing for God...Jesus didnt say to give Caesar EVERYTHING he asks...only give that which he is due.

Very Good point ^above^ because without secular 'Caesar' we would Not have beneficial laws such as traffic laws, etc.
So, what 'Caesar' does with tax money ( for good or bad ) is on Caesar's head, so to speak, and Not ours.
'Caesar' does Not have the right to ask a person to devote or dedicate his life to 'Caesar'.
It is Not 'Caesar' who gives us humans life and breath - Acts 17:25
So, paying taxes is a relative subjection to 'Caesar' but absolute subjection belongs to God.

Lol, somebody finally gives proof there is no God, I guess we could pack it up and go home now.

Those scriptures were poured over after they were written, you think they suddenly forgot who Caesar was?

That would be like thousands of Americans looking and checking for errors, and somehow in 2021, somebody wrote that Ronald Reagan was president and nobody caught it.

Anyway, whatever you find in the New Testament, it doesn't reflect to the law and prophets on any situation, God made an end of his books with the last prophet.

People will present letters from a Jew as if they could possibly stand alongside the law and the prophets, and that is just insane.

If somebody doesnt speak by the law and the prophets, they shouldnt even speak.

On this subject of Ceasar, common sense proves you wrong.

On this topic, I read a piece years ago in which the author asserted that the "render unto Caesar" passage has been widely misunderstood. Jesus' statement had nothing to do with the legitimacy of taxation per se, but was actually a clever way of pointing out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees.

Here's the piece if anyone is interested. If nothing else, it's an interesting revisionist take.

The written piece was apparently adapted from a lecture that can be found here.
