Our primitive ancestors thought God was a jealous, wrathful, and vengeful War God which is why they felt justified in murdering Jesus who made outrageous claims about being God's Son (or even God Himself).
Yes true, most people make a god of their own , which fits their philosophy and totally reject the God of scripture, who Loves only some and hates the others.

Gods Love for a person/people is the grounds for Him drawing them to Himself Jer 31:3

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Gods Love is accompanied with His doing, and His Love is always with return, they whom He loves will love Him 1 Jn 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us. The word because is causative, Gods Love produces the result of the Loved loving the Lover.

God IS agape love. that does not mean that one of His attributes is agape love. It means that ALL of Him is agape love as described and Divinely Revealed by Jesus (God) on the Cross. There can be no hate in agape love and forgiveness. The "mind of Christ" reveals the "mind of God."

Philippians 2:5-30 King James Version
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

The Holy Spirit IS the True Nature of God revealed, described, and demonstrated unambiguously by Jesus. He IS agape love, kindness, mercy, compassion, gentleness, unconditional acceptance, empathy, sympathy, tolerance, long-suffering, decency, friendliness, peacefulness, joyfulness, understanding, care, concern, solicitude, solicitousness, sensitivity, tender-heartedness, soft-heartedness, warm-heartedness, warmth, love, brotherly love, tenderness, gentleness, mercifulness, leniency, lenience, consideration, kindness, humanity, humaneness, kind-heartedness, charity, benevolence, and He is non-judgmental.

True, too bad you seem not to realize what that actually means and want to believe only you and other special people are loved by God. That is your human vanity and hubris talking, NOT God.!!!

Those whom God the Father Loved, He gave them to His Son, which secures their believing in Him Jn 6:37

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

God doesnt Love all, for He hates some people Ps 5:5

5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Rom 9:13

5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Those God loves are special to Him above all other people Deut 7:6-7

6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7 The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

You have to rewrite the New Testament to come to this blasphemous belief.

God so loved the world of the elect John 3:16

God demonstrated his love towards the elected sinners Romans 5:8

Some people just look in the mirror and see their god.
God loves all in the sense "IF" they do as 1st John 1:7 says to walk as a Christian should walk.
The majority reject the God of the Bible.
However, as Matthew 20:28 says Jesus' random covers MANY.
MANY such as the 'great crowd' of Rev. 7:14,9 who are the figurative upright humble 'sheep' at the time of Matthew 25:31-33,37

The desire to be special in God's eyes seems to be a strong obsession in some, Pcamps! They just will not see the absurdity and evil of such a capricious God.

NT and OT complement one another as the word of God. God hated esau Rom 9:13
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

And anyone who has Spiritual understanding knows that Jphn 3:16 amd Rom 5:8 refers to only Gods elect.

God doesnt Love any save His elect, and His love for them is unconditional. He Loved His elect while they are sinners and ungodly Rom 5:6-8
