Also, to add to this, there are polystrate fossils. They've literally found fossilized trees in upright positions spanning several geologic layers, which shows that these layers were deposited rapidly, not over millions of years. Also, bent rock layers. If those layers were different ages, they could not bend and fold without fracturing.

No, the science that a global flood occurred is not irrefutable. The geological evidence is fully against the biblical Noah's flood and no geologist outside of those who work for young earth creationist sites would ever make such a claim.

Good grief. Scientific - as in Geological evidence conclusively shows that Noah's Flood never happened. All flooding events in history and in pre-history (ice-age) are shown by the evidence to be by local and regional floods. Not by a single global supernatural event.

I believe all those things. But they have no relevance to the creation and flood stories which based on scientific evidence we know not to be true. Furthermore, scholars know because of discoveries concerning the Bible's relationship to its ancient Near East culture why the Bible says what it says concerning the creation and flood stories.

What all of those things have in common with creation and the Flood is that they are all supernatural events that defy science. The atheists claim to *know* that God doesn't exist because of a supposed lack of physical evidence. How is what you're saying any different?
What we *know* is what God has revealed to us. If what we perceive seems to contradict what God has revealed, then the problem lies with our perception, not with God's revelation.
