Why is it that people who claim that they love Yahweh (His name is not God - that is merely a title) yet fail to obey His commandments. There are many that are rationalized away, but I will limit this discussion to only the 4th Commandment to keep the Sabbath Holy.
Guard the Sabbath day, to set it apart, as HWHY your Elohim commanded you. 13‘Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, 14but the seventh day is a Sabbath of HWHY your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, so that your male servant and your female servant rest as you do. 15‘And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Mitsrayim, and that HWHY your Elohim brought you out from there by a strong hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore HWHY your Elohim commanded you to observe the Sabbath
I will not argue that Sunday is NOT the Sabbth, Saturday is. Instead I will discuss the the rest of the commandment, that we, are families, our servants, our live stock or any foreigner within our gates (guests) shall do no work. Sunday is a traditional day for church going people to spend the day after church doing yard work, cleaning house, going to restaurants, playing sports or other physical activities. What happens when you go to a restaurant, a movie, ballgame etc? There are people there to serve you, the waitress, the hot dog vendor etc. They are you servants. You are commanded that they shall not work. Doing yard work or washing the car is work. Many Christians work their regular jobs that day. Some Jews believe that even turning on a light switch is work, and hire someone to do this for them on the Sabbath. By doing this, they are violating the Sabbath in that their servant is doing tasks for them. The Sabbath is to be a day of rest and communion with our Creator, not a day to pursue our pleasures or earn money.
While the Israelites were wandering for 40 years in the wilderness, they did not work on the Sabbath, not even cooking. They gathered enough manna on Friday for two days. Those who did go seeking manna on the Sabbath found none.
John 14:15 If you love Me, you shall guard My
commands. The converse is that if you do not love Him, you will not obey His commandments.

Who do you serve, Elohim or mammon?
I agree....the Sabbath should be observed as the Lord's day. But like everything else in this world today, that doesn't seem to matter much anymore. I am also guilty of working on Sunday, although I don't now. I think we also need to take into consideration why people are working on Sunday....I think you can take time to honor God as well as work if it is a matter of survival or losing your job if you don't work on Sunday.
If you take time out of another day to honor God to make up for Sunday, wouldn't that be sufficient? I mean, technically the Sabbath is Saturday (like you said) which we don't observe, so what's the difference as long as you are choosing "a day" to honor God? I just don't think God is that condemning about this particular subject. Just because yardwork has the word "work" in it doesn't make it work for some.....it is a form of relaxation and can be used as a time to meditate and be one with God. Just my perspective on it.

What if you have a 6 month old baby.. are you not supposed to feed it, change its diapers etc? let me tell you.. thats work.
Are you supposed to just sit around scratching ourselves watching TV? How will we eat? It takes work to get up and make myself a sandwich.. am I not supposed to eat either?

Please qualify "work".
There are examples scattered throughout the bible that classify various tasks as work and they are all extremely broad in their use. Walking more than a mile is work. dragging a bed (mattress pallet) out of a room is work. Digging a hole is work. Carrying wood for a fire is work.
God's instruction was to make preparation for the sabbath. Do all of your cooking, washing, laundry, etc before the sabbath and cease upon nightfall. The feeding of infants required no preparation and could continue since breastfeeding required no labor on the part of the caretaker. Diapers were not a concern of the day either. You can argue that this is not work since it produces no sweat and takes little time as long as you have all the necessary items pre-gathered and available and the dirty diaper does not require significant effort to dispose of, ie you dont have to bury it, or carry it down three flights of stairs to a disposal bin.
As to eating, you should have made your sandwich the day before. You should not be scrathing your self in front of the tv either. You should be deep in prayer and dedicating your life to God's service rather than idlly watching tv and pushing God out of your mind.
That is as it should be, but alas, even in my life it is not. I still do far too many things on both Saturday and Sunday other than focus strictly on God.

Have you changed a kids diaper? Trust me.. it can make you sweat.
What about women who can't breastfeed.. still work no?

So are we to assume you keep the entire Mosaic Law?
I doubt it.....you've just picked a few you think you can obey and condemn others for not following your same hand-picked laws....if I'm wrong, then tell me the last time a priest was at your home to inspect mold? Or a pimple? Better yet, let's start working our way through Leviticus and you help us understand how to bind ourselves to the Old law Christ came to set us free....
wait....
wait....
What's that in my bible?
Uh oh.....please....whatever you do....don't read Romans 10:4....your entire life might be changed!
P.S. I'm all for keeping the Sabbath, but because it was made for us, not vice versa. (See Mark 2)
I try to take a logical approach to Scripture. Throughout history, religious leaders have made up many rules that have nothing to do with the Word. We are not expected to neglect our babies by not feeding or changing them. We are not expected to ignore our livestock and not milk our cows and goats. These tasks need to be done, or we have abused our animals.
I celebrate 7th Day Sabbath, because that is when the true Sabbath is. It was changed to Sunday by Constantine I, who while supposedly converting to Christianity, was still a sun worshiper. Sunday was the day the pagans worshiped - the Day of the Sun. The penalty for observing the true Sabbath was death. And yes, it does matter what day you observe the Sabbath on. Scripture is clear. The 7th day. It is well established that Saturday (sundown Friday to sundown Saturday) is the 7th day. This is the day that Yeshua observed. We are commanded to keep that day holy. Is your job more important to you than Elohim?
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who
loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. Matt 10:37 - Does this also not apply to your job?
As for food, I do one of two things. I make up a dish in the crock pot before Sabbath begins. Spaghetti is good cold, or I leave it in the pot. I also will make sandwiches or fruits etc. Regarding food, Scripture only commands us not to light a fire on the Sabbath, such as using the stove or oven. Elohim does not want us to not eat on the Sabbath. Nor does He expect us not to exert ourselves. Some Jews believe that even getting out of bed is work because of the physical exertion. That is nonsense. Use common sense and logic.
Here is a good link explaining the Sabbath.

What if my child is sick and I want to take them to a hospital.. what if there is nobody working at the hospital. That would kinda suck wouldn't it?
this is an interesting thread... I just spoke to someone about this a few weeks ago.... (whether I should work on Sundays or not). He was a dedicated Christian of 40 years and he replied "I make every day for worship to the Father, not just one, so if I do yard work on Sundays, I don't feel the least bit guilty." He, too, wondered the same thing years ago.....
