I think there is one source of energy, some call it God, some call it something else, but I do believe that through Christ's attonement we can all come back to be united as One with God. I don't think that fighting about how to get there will do anyone any good. Peace and Love.

Thank you Day of the Lord for all your good posts!!!

Today i went to a friends church and the pastor said that God knows everything we will ever do, so what does it matter if you get the word out, if they are destined to be lost, what can a person do?

What does anything matter if the outcome is beyond our choice.

(for those that don't know where i stand, i don't believe this one bit, and believe that we do have the freedom to choose our fate)

godspeed,

freedom

I believe it is so freeing, it generates a desire in my heart to please God. Which is not sin.

Hbr 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Hbr 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

THe beauty of the teachings of Jesus is that we can put off the old nature and put on a new one, we are to be renewed by the renewing of our minds, we are to do the things that Jesus did and more, He has given us the keys to righteousness, holiness, and godliness. We do not need to remain slaves to sin, we can overcome our weaknesses through seeking Him first.

Why are we called to Hunger and Thirst after righteousness? That we might be filled. Even with the fullness of God.

Therefore, leaving the principles and doctrines of Jesus Christ..Go unto Perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance, etc......

We have a wonderful counselor 24/7 that can give us the strength and encouragement to Love God with all our strength.

Unfortunately man seems content to go about saying i'm saved...which is like saying, hey man, i'm breathing....

If we love Him, we keep His commandments, and what better work could we do, than to seek Him first, and live by His doctrine.

godspeed,

freedom
Are you a sheep or a goat?
I'm asking because I read yout thread about your co-worker, that tried
to witness to you ( share his convictions) and your response to him
So are you an Atheist or not ?
Just curious, I have to read more of your threads, but , the shortcut to this is asking you, What do you really believe? the above confessions /passages
of scripture, doesn't sound typical of atheist

Hi Freedom, I believe that God does see beginning to end and that He works all according to the counsel of His will. To me, this means that we do not have total free will to choose our fate. But I believe that God works through us to reach those who are lost and who are elected to salvation in this age. I believe that all is the direct result of the work of God working in our lives and on our hearts, but we are not robots. We are to be active participants in living for Him, in responding to Him. To me it is like God is a master teacher who has a goal in mind and everyone is going to pass the course, but we are in a learning process. We may fall, fail many times, and we have to study, have to participate in order to reach the goal. As the master instructor, God knows what it will take to get us there and we really don't have a choice as to whether or not we will participate. God bless.

With her on-line classroom with this guru, she said she started thinking there was something wrong when she was in church many years ago and the pastor said that God is a jealous God. She said she remembered thinking "God is jealous of me?".....How arrogant is that to think that your Creator is jealous of you? If she had been paying attention and had actually accepted Christ, she would know that God was referring to one of the Ten Commandments...."you shall have no other gods before me."

So actually if I am reading this correctly, God knows that there are other gods out there, he just makes it known that he should be FIRST.

You and your pastor misunderstand why
God is able to know everything we do. He can see the future. He knows the end of all things. He knows what decisions we will make before we make them. Before we even exist. Think of it as fast forwarding a movie to see the end of it. You can do that without affecting the content of the movie. We have free will. God is sovereign. It is actually rather simple.

Then what is the point of the exercise? Why do we concern ourselves whether the word is spread or taught, no matter the religion. It is all according to the pre-thought of God.

Why didn't God just make the choice for us then?

freedom

No, God knows that there will be those worshipping idols, man made religions, money, possessions, addictions, etc....

Another "god" is anything that is more important to a person and is put before the Almighty God. There are no other gods, just illogical, selfish, man made myths.
