Biblical scholar Dan McClellan (he's not an apologist) flat out refutes the internet rumors that Jesus was copied from other gods. I thought I'd post this short, 7 minute video for anyone who might be interested. Christians should be interested in issues like these for educational purposes since there is a lot of false information on the internet.
I bought the Jesus Mysteries trying to prove Jesus was stolen from the pagan gods, I even talked to the authors, that was like 97.
When I talked to them I got around to asking why they didnt use Hyslop's two Babylon's seeing how much they could have added, then they got mad I think. If you seriously study paganism, it's hard not to run across Hyslop's two Babylons, but Hyslop's two Babylons only prove that the Pagans stole from the bible.
Jesus fulfilled approximately 300 Old Testament prophecies to the letter. I am under the belief that many gods from ancient civilizations, are in fact real spirits and my hypothesis on this is that you can find the same exact gods between Egypt and South American empires, and drawings of the gods to the exact T. At some point, (demonic) spirits had access to scripture (they lost access to it) and are able to to replicate some of the prophecies about Jesus coming for the old world.

That's some food for thought, Danny. I've come to believe the small-g gods were demonic and were the "rulers" of the ancient civilizations. Yes, there were other gods and we see that in all civilizations all over the earth. Explains why they were so violent with human sacrifice and all. I also believe they are STILL in charge of even our modern civilizations---look at all the war, greed, etc.
This explained a lot for me, but strangely, is not addressed at all in churches, or not ones I've been to.
