Edit: I didn't make that claim.. just clarifying what was said.
It's basically the same thing. Dr. Dobson is speaking up in defense of biblical Christianity.
Even so, equating any person with Hitler... how many times have we seen someone do that in the media and be shredded for it?
EDITED TO ADD: I'm not out to fight or debate with anyone. I could care less how anyone feels about Dr. Dobson. I'm not trying to defend him. My point is to point out the hypocrisy and the double-standard that the world obviously turns a blind eye to when it suits them. But, when the shoes on the other foot..... drag out the hangman's noose!
Please give us an example of just one of Dr. Dobson's lies.
This may not count as one of his own lies, but Dobson helped spread the blatant lie of serial killer Ted Bundy which, at the time, was a way for him to promote his own social agenda.
In an interview with Dobson, Bundy claimed that he had become addicted to porn and that is why he killed all of those people. Dobson ate it up and because of his status, so did a lot of evangelicals. Onward with the anti-porn crusade - here was proof that porn makes psycho killers out of normal Americans! Bundy later confirmed what secular people already knew - he made it all up to get the Christian right behind his lame attempts to avoid the death penalty.
No.. its not basically the same thing. If Dolphin had said "I'm comparing Hitler to Christianity" then you would be correct.
Comparing 1 self reported Christian person to Hitler does not mean that Dolphin compared an entire religion to Hitler.
But if I spoke out as Dr Dobson does, and pointed out that that my views, which to some are intolerant, and bigoted, because I believe what the Bible says, then I would (according to the post) be labled as Hitler myself..am I correct?
Angel is a Christian. Angel is not politically correct and does not expect others to be.
Angel does not wish to post Mr. Dobson's views on this thread as a BB has never changed a mind...or a heart and it simply not worth the time as far as Angel is concerned, which is why Angel deleted his first post to begin with.
But if I spoke out as Dr Dobson does, and pointed out that that my views, which to some are intolerant, and bigoted, because I believe what the Bible says, then I would (according to the post) be labled as Hitler myself..am I correct?
I didn't label Dobson as Hitler; I compared him to theatrically show how a gay man living in America views his agenda and the threat he poses as he has sway over many people in this country. Hitler didn't start out rounding up and killing Jews. He started out as a charismatic leader who scapegoated the nations problems on a select group of people and used it to attain a powerful position of which we all know the consequences.
But if I spoke out as Dr Dobson does, and pointed out that that my views, which to some are intolerant, and bigoted, because I believe what the Bible says, then I would (according to the post) be labled as Hitler myself..am I correct?
What about Dobson's ties to Jack Abramoff and Ralph Reed? Why is this man a moral authority? Why do so many Americans not think for themselves? If you want to know what Obama believes when it comes public policy or Christianty, read/listen to his speeches/interviews in full. Stop relying solely on people like Dobson to think for you.
"Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding Mr. Reed continues to create tension for other evangelical leaders. E-mails released by the Senate Indian Affairs Committee indicate Mr. Reed told Mr. Abramoff that he would solicit anti-gambling help from big-name evangelicals including James Dobson and Tom Minnery of Focus on the Family. Days later, each wrote letters to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton, protesting the opening of a casino in Louisiana.
In a Feb. 6, 2001, e-mail, Mr. Abramoff asked whether Mr. Reed "can get Dobson on the radio" to criticize Republican Haley Barbour for supporting the new casino's opening. Mr. Reed replied: "yes. there's a history there." Mr. Abramoff replied: "Let me know when Dobson hits him. I want to savor it." On Feb. 19, Mr. Reed assured Mr. Abramoff: "we're negotiating that now. don't have a green light yet, but they are very interested." " WORLD Magazine | Today's News, Christian Views
