Does that ever happen?

A poster from this forum posted a link to a good website about Christianity. And it said Jesus Christ died for our unconscious or ignorant sinning but not any sin out of intention or rebellion.

So if you are Christian; what do you do if you make the mistake of committing a sin against God? Do you ask God for forgiveness?

Anybody care to offer insight and opinions on this?

I believe the blood of Jesus covers all my sins.

Jesus Christ is the author of Love.
He Loves you with an everlasting Love.

That is the Good News !

How many times can you run back to the Father (daddy ) and ask him to please for forgive you?

As many times as you need.

If have hurt some one else, earnestly pray about to best way to heal that wound. And when your ready, ask them how you can help heal it.

Artsy, I think all sin is against God, but He forgives all for the asking..We often intentionally rebel, but are later genuinely sorry for it..

I don't agree, we knowingly sin but I don't ask for forgiveness because 1) No where in scripture does it say, asking God for forgiveness 2) My sins as a Christian are already forgiven.
The Bible says that God removes our sins as far as the east is from the west.... We are to confess our sins to God not to maintain our salvation, but to bring ourselves back into close fellowship with Him. Him who loves us and forgives us.

Isn't petitioning for forgiveness a fundamental part to the Lord's Prayer?

Luke 11 1-4

1And it came to pass that as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, "Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples."

2And He said unto them, "When ye pray, say: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in Heaven, so on earth.

3Give us day by day our daily bread.

4And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

Matthew 6 7-14

7"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Pray then like this:

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If there is no forgiveness for rebellion - Adam and Eve are out of luck.

Scripture nowhere instructs believers in Christ to ask God for forgiveness.

(1 John 1:9)
9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness"

I confess to Him that I'm corrupt in nature, and ask Him to burn out everything that is not His life. I know that without Him I can do nothing, and it's by His grace that I am what I am.
