NO, I did not say God did not give the words for man to write. What I believe is that God did give the words for man to write, and man did this accurately.
You said, John tells Mary a story, Mary tells Bob the same story, and by the time it gets to Joe it is entirely different. And then you say, no man or woman can know the exact truth.
With that statement, you have just disputed the Bible.
Do you really believe that God can create the universe, yet He is unable to get His Book to read accurately?
And if the Bible does not read accurately, why are all the prophecies truthful?
Again, point missed. You believe what you want to believe and others will and do the same. One of the big problems with religion is you get too many people who want to tell others how it is, etc...and the know it all act gets tiresome and then turns into judging others, which, I believe is not to be done.

All I did, was accurately restate my orginal statement which you mis- quoted. And then I pointed out to you, that your belief that the Bible is a Book that has errors in it, was a belief that disputes the Biblical account. And then I asked you two questions, which you did not answer. How did I miss the point? How is that judging? I find the biggest problem here, is trying to get people to answer fair and honest questions when asked to do so.
I believe in the Bible but also question the fact that it was written and handed down by man thus changing meanings and words.

You said you question the Bible and only believe SOME of it. I believe the Bible is the Word of God and trustworthy, ALL of it.

Just because I have an "open" mind to question things does NOT mean that I don't believe in it. A closed mind can lead one to be judgmental. Enough said on the subject.
I am not Mormon. That said, I do not consider the Latter Day Saints to be a "cult", let alone a "false" cult.
I respect the good works that Mormons do - in their neighborhoods, in their communities, and in foreign lands.
They are another example of a proud self-elevating man trying to make himself out to be some sort of superior human being. Joseph Smith was proud, exceedingly vain, and stupid.
" The History of the Church contains some statements which seem to show that Joseph Smith felt he was almost equal with God:
"God made Aaron to be the mouth piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be god to you in His stead, and the Elders to be mouth for me; and if you don't like it, you must lump it." (vol. 6, pp.319-320)
"If they want a beardless boy to whip all the world, I will get on the top of the mountain and crow like a rooster. I shall always beat them.... I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet." (vol. 6, pp. 408-9)
One of the most important factors leading to Joseph Smith's death was his order to destroy a newspaper. Mormon scholar Kenneth W. Godfrey wrote:
"The Prophet's mayoral order, with the consent of the city council, to destroy the Nauvoo Expositor became the immediate excuse to stamp out his life.... Perhaps in retrospect both Mormons and Gentiles were partly to blame for conflict which developed between then." (Brigham Young University Studies, Winter 1968, pp. 213-14)
The Nauvoo Expositor was to be printed in Nauvoo by prominent Mormon defectors who opposed Joseph Smith's political ambitions and the practice of polygamy.

Inasmuch as I was commenting on Mormons - and not John Smith, your post is meaningless

The Mormons still consider him to be the spiritual leader of their church, so my post is absolutely relevant. His so-called 'Book of Mormon' is nothing less than heresy.
"Mormons consider Joseph Smith, Jr. (1805–1844), the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church), to be a true prophet."
"There are three possible explanations for the origin of the Book of Mormon. One is that it is a product of spontaneous generation. Another is that it came into existence in the way Joseph Smith said it did, by special messengers and gifts from God. The third is the hypothesis that Joseph Smith or some other party or parties simply made it all up. No experiments have ever been carried out for testing any of these theories. The first has not even been considered, the second has been dismissed with a contemptuous wave of the hand, and the third has been accepted without question or hesitation. "

Well, I suppose you could have called the followers of Jim Jones 'good people' - but nonetheless deluded.
