Our minister actually preached on "Why You Need to Be in Church"....and I personally kind of rolled my eyes when I saw the title, but low and behold I loved every second of what he said. It was based on this scripture...
Hebrews 10:24-25 (New International Version)
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I do have encouraging relationships in my Church and those who hold me accountable. It is a very unique and special relationship that I find only at Church. There is something so special about meeting with another believer. I don't believe you have to be in a building but I do believe the relationships are important. What I do find is that in order to make true connections with people you have to put the effort forward. I think as a whole, people are a lot more guarded than they used to be and deeper relationships take longer to build these days. But then again I move a lot so I see that in all relationships.
