Far right/Bible literalist/fundamentalist churchs preach fear - and having this made up "gay agenda" is just another scare tactic they use to fire up their followers. "Oooo... if you don't show up every Sunday and do as we say, the homosexuals are going force schools to teach your 5 year old how to have anal sex. They're filthy, sex crazed, disease-ridden monsters ready to pounce on your little boys and turn them gay. Let's all work together and ammend our state constitution to put them all in concentration camps and make Jesus happy! - and put more money in the plate while you're at it!"
My church preaches love. It's a much more pleasant way to live.

There will come a time when the world will kill Christians, you are proving it because of your hatred of the truth. Since we represent the truth, you will certainly hate us. You keep talking about hate because you yourself hate. Even Martin Luther King Jr. told us not to hate our enemies because Jesus didn't and they were beaten, spat on, lynched etc.... what have you and your fellow gays gone through for the "plight" of the gay community besides a bruised ego?

No, I'm skurrda snakes. I've never met a single gay (or straight) person who was into bestiality. I'd suggest that "freedom" produce just one person who wants to be able to marry an animal and then we'll get back to this stupid argument.

I'm not a member of any church, and i don't go to an organized church.
If i did and they taught that gays should be harmed, i would speak up and protect them if the occasion presented itself.
I do believe that they need mental and spiritual help, but that is really up to them to seek it out.
You know my disagreement is in the position that you take, believing that its not a sin, and that God accepts it as a righteous act and choice.

The Bible isn't homophobic, it is absolute.
You do realise that the word homosexual was only brought into use in many English translations of the Bible in the 20th century? Before that, it used to be translated as "masturbators".
You are right, the Bible is not homophobic because there is nothing about homosexuality or sexual orientation in the Bible - a concept that was not recognised at the time the texts were first written.
How can the Bible be absolute if translators can change the meanings of the original Hebrew and Greek words and verses to suit their own biases or the biases of the church who commissioned them?
