It is fictional but the writer ,Young, has deeply woven countless scriptures and used literary skills to deepen our understanding of His love .

Also, I have a better undertsanding of what trusting God is all about.

it is a quick read, leaves you blessed. Peace to all of you.

A book full of heresy will show God's love for us? The bible is the ONLY book that will do that. It shows God in a more respected light because it's not about us but all about Him.

I liked it too. Most normal people recognize the book for what it is.

I would have let that go, "but "normal" people? You hit the nail on the head. I am a Christian, "normal" is a worldly term. So yes I could see how people of the world could like this book and once again no scipture to back up what you are saying just based on feelings.

Good. We agree then.

A simple "I agree" would have sufficed.

I'm sorry, I thought this thread was about The Shack. Did I miss something?

Dave737driver, I agree with you about this book. No I do not replace it as the Word of God, nor do I hold it in that esteem, but it did connect with me on a lot of levels. I loved this book and actually a great deal of people on this board have read it. There was a thread a while back when we all read it that was really interesting. If I can find it I will post it on this thread.

Your cheap shot about "normal" people then turn around and claiming we are only talking about the book......whateva

Not many things I hate but I hate this book.
I hate what is evil.

The Shack is heresy plain and simple. It has has low, disrespectful view of God.
1) The Bible is very clear: Dare not portray God in an image. It is impossible to make the Creator part of the creation. The Shack clearly does this.
