According to the sages, everything took place in the Middle East (i.e. Babylon, Persia, Media, Alexander of Macedon, etc.) and this is why it is not listed in the prophecies but rather under writings...You must first understand what a Hebrew prophet was before you can understand why...

In Revelations 11:3 ..``And I will give power on to my two witnesses , and they will prophecy a thousand , two hundred and three score days , clothed in sackcloth,,``(1, 260 days )........ So what do you think of God using 3 and half years for prophecy in Revelations and Daniel ............Even Jesus ministry in the years before the cross adds up to around 3 and half years .....maybe from Daniel prophecy means for Jesus blessed is he that waits to 1335 days where people will find the day of Pentecost.........?

What about the prophesies of Daniel concerning the death of Christ? Of course I know most Jews don't like Josephus Flavius, but Josephus calls Daniel the greatest prophet and Josephus shows Daniel's prophesies being fulfilled.
But when Jesus spoke of Daniel in referring to the abomination of desolation standing in the temple, he means that it will be found inside people and so he says,'' Let the reader understand.''
The understanding that we are the Temple.
That 7 years referred to in Revelation comes right out of Daniel. Where we are shown 42 months and 3 and a half years, this is referring to the 7 year covenant that Daniel speaks about after the Messiah is cut off. Revelation is much ado about Daniel.
