Hey you wonderful peoplel
I was wondering, Is it me or is there just way too many different
denominations /sects out here now?
Is it possible that a lot of these are as a result of the fleshly desires of
man to exalt himself/herself, or do we need all of these?
especially since we all believe in Jesus the Christ
No wonder there are some that are confused about where to go and
what to believe (concerning the doctrines) of these various churches, there seems to be too many to choose, I mean more that 'Baskin & Robbins"
Okay God Bless All of you
have a good nite

Thats what happens when you loose a central authority (aka the Pope), anyone with their own spin of the bible, and bam! a new church is born.

The only two I can reconcile with are the Catholic church and the Greek Orthodox Church.

You are right, too many denominations everywhere like Dunkin Donuts

If a church adheres to the fundamentals, I have no problem with that church...It's when they start listening to their denomination's leader and taking their word over scripture I have issues with...

There's nothing wrong with some of these denominational differences.

I'm in a very multi-cultural area of my city, and have observed that a lot of different "denominations" or "sects" are present primarily because of a different style of worship inherent in some cultures. Black Christians, for instance, tend to worship in a very different cultural style than do white Christians.

So sometimes it's not about disagreements. It's about worshiping at a place, and in a way, that is more understandable and beneficial to a person.

Jesus, and Jesus alone, is my denomination.

Methodism started out as a movement not a denomination by John Wesley.

Great post.
I got to church, but I question some, through the word that is given in the bible. I would like to think that I live by the bible to best of my knowledge.
God grant me knowledge.
So that I may do as you wish.

I do not believe denominations are God's will. We are to be of one accord. We are not.

That would be every time. And question: What fundamentals should a church adhere to. That IS the crux of the problem to begin with. What ARE the fundamentals and WHO decides what they are?
