I am curious about what Christians think of the Buddhist religion. I posted a similar thread on the atheist board and it was an interesting talk. What do you all think of it?
How arrogant of you to say these things. How do you know that your religion is not the one that leads to hell? What makes you so sure that yours is the only correct religion, when there are so many other beautiful ones on this Earth?
Very closed-minded. I'm disappointed in where this thread is going so far.

I think it's arrogant of you to condemn us for having the guts to state our beliefs.
But then tolerance only seems to be a one-way street, huh?
Jesus specifically said that NO ONE gets to the Father but through HIM. That would seem to be pretty exclusive. Either Christianity is right, or buddhism is right...but both CAN'T be right.

What did you expect by asking such a thing? We are Christians--we believe there is only ONE path, and all else leads to hell.
Funky, I can't really speak for Christains per se (I'm sort of Christain, but not really all that traditional of one), but I like it. I see Buddhism as a philosophy that melds well with many other religions and philosophies, including Christainity. Since the Buddha never proclaimed to know anything about God, I see no contradiction in following the practices and habits of mind he recommended while worshiping Jesus an an incarnation of God. However, at mass a few weeks ago, the priest said he has no problem with people who "pray to Buddha" (sic), but he giggles at them.

I think it's fine that you worship Christ. But the fact that you belittle the beliefs of others and say that they are going to hell is very intolerant and pompous.
It is not a sign of someone who is secure and mature, to belittle and disrespect the beliefs of other like that. You all are just making yourselves look bad by doing this though.
