It is more common to be discourged from studying the Bible then it is to be discourage by Christians from studying other religions. personaly I have been apart of Bible studies where other religions have been discussed not to discredit them but understand what is going on in the world of religion. In my experiance I have never been scared or felt blasfamous in such studies.

I don't need to know about every single other religion and the tenets of each to know that they are false. If it's outside the Word of God, it's from Satan, the father of deception.

I’ve not studied Socialism or Communism but I can understand the political, economic and social iniquities.

Maybe the woman brought on the rape, maybe it is you who is being broad. Ever heard of Orissa state in India? Oh that's right our news is busy talking about the economy and how Ashton Kutcher won the twitter contest against CNN.

Yes I have hard of this. And the violence began because of political reasons. The leader of a Hindu political party was murdered by a Christian, and that sparked it up.

Why do you keep on bringing up acts of violence? Why don't you talk about the RELIGIONS themselves?

You keep on trying to derail the topic.

No he wasn't. Christians were made the scape goats and even if that's the case why not go after the murderer why ALL Christians. If you buy that story, I got some land for you

I have studied them and everyone has flaws. If you want to go in detail I will be only to happy to discuss it with ya. I am leaving work and heading home now. Can't wait to see what you wrote.

For these reasons, I think lots of Christians are frightened about studying other relgions. Because they think that to do so might be sinful. Is this true?

I've done quite a bit of study of the cults (mormons, jw's, universalism). I used to be catholic so I know a lot of them, and I've read into islam quite a bit.

Yeah..I've studied.

I already tried to start up another topic doing this. I tried to have a compartiave discussion between Buddhism and Christianity. But it ended up getting closed down because nobody could remain civil.

Let's try it again shall we

What do you find wrong about the Buddhist relgion exactly? What is false about it?

Or if you would like, let's talk about Hinduism. What is wrong and false about this one?

How about Paganism...... Let's talk religion here.
