Has anybody been envolved in a homechurch? Did you like it and were there ever major issues among those involved? What are the pros and cons about them?

Pros- Have more control of the direction of your church in terms of sound doctrine, church discipline etc...
Cons- Don't let it get too big or else you will have to move in a bigger building and then you will have to start the process all over again.
Speaking only for myself.. I would love to attend "home church"..Since I dropped out of organized religion (I didn't drop out I was led out), I have been studying the movement along with the Epistles especially the Paul letters..
He never told the people to build a house to God with bricks and mortar, he never told them to establish special building funds and take out loans, he never told them that they had to hire a complete staff to run those buildings, he never told them to make sure everyone is sitting so that their eyes will be on the speaker they pay to bring them a message, he never told them that the bigger the building, the more entertainment, the more elaborate electronic equipment the more members you will bring in.
.IMO, all those things were brought in when man made his own rules and started religions in their own names..Competition for wealth, power and personal egos has resulted in many being pulled further and further from the simple message of Jesus in Matthew 18:20..
We are the church, Christ is the head, we are members of his body..Each one of us must be encouraged to use our gifts to honor Christ and not be held back with the rules of the religion or the building..
