Phl 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Phl 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
Phl 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Rejoice!
One of the reason I like this verse is simply because I know many times where some doctrinal stance supposes to add affliction to my bonds, through guilt, fear and futility of measuring up, one day I'll get a big surprise, or just you wait and see, none of that has any real truth or power.
Why I like this is the final word on the gospel LOVE.

How do you know that is the final word? That is just the way you interpret it based on the interpretations of scripture you choose to believe.

Not arguing religion with you. If you do not think the Gospel is love, then you don't. I do and thats what I know is true in my life. I do not know your life.
1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loves us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

That is just one man`s interpretation of that verse that you choose to believe. How do you know that God sent his son to be the propiation for sin? It`s all based on believing anothers interpretation.

I know because I know so I share. What do you have to share concerning Christ and Love?
Maybe it has something to do with "by their fruits you will know them" - if the "doctrine" does not show the love and God and Christ - it shows itself to be false. And just as the opposite of evil is good, the opposite of a false doctrine is good.
Christ isnt being preached if the limited intention of His death is not truthfully declared, that He died to save the elect, the sheep of God..and not the non elect, the seed of the serpent..

Good points, Meerkat. God is love. God bless.
