It's possible the video is trying to make jesus an "american liberal" but thats not my point. If you are true believers you should vote for everything he stood for, and that includes pacifism, giving to the poor, and abortion if you want i dont know if he clearly said that but I'll take your word for it. Jesus would probably abolish the military and give all that money to the poor.

Jesus was surrounded by Roman troops every day ...yet never once spoke out in a manner that would suggest he was against the idea of a strong arm of the State working to protect the people.

In fact the text tells us that God has set up the State to rule over people and to protect people from the harm of evil men.
The state holds the sword for a reason, and that reason is never once challenged by Christ...

To suggest that Jesus would abolish the military is to make an attack against our boys who joined the military to protect home and family from harm...

How is that an attack? Not everyone in the military is a believer.

The moment a person suggests that Jesus would get rid of the Army, you attack the people inside the Army that joined it because of a faith that this was what God was seeking from them to do...

let me be very clear...

Jesus never once suggested that if he were in charge of a country that there would be no military.

Jesus never taught that people that join the military are in sin.

The idea that if Jesus were the American president that he would get rid of the military is not supported in the Bibles teachings of Jesus and His views of the military.

Getting rid of the military is a typical Liberal idea, NOT a Christian idea!

None of my family joined for that reason so it is not an attack against them. Again, many did not join for that reason, many are not believers. I didnt know the Bible said for people to join the military.

The Bible tells us Clearly that the state bears the sword for a good reason.
Over and over the text warns us that if we do wrong the sword of the State will fall on us...

The same is still true today too!
Think the bible's teachings were only for "them days"?
WRONG!

Jesus never once asked any person in the military to quit, nor is there any place in the bible that suggests that if Jesus were in charge there would be no military.

The very suggestion that Jesus would seek to get rid of the military is typical liberal, "lets all go out and hug a tree and smoke pot" type thinking, but it is not a position that is found in the text.

So the sword is the military? Why not just say Military? can you post the passage for me to read. And by all accounts, the sword has been used wrong many many times.

It's not just the military, but we should make sure we understand it is also the military...

The use of the term "sword" is because that is a term used in God's word.
Take it up with Him...

Romans 13:1-14

"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad.

Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority?

Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good.

But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant* of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ..."

The servant* is not only the people in charge, it is also the people who carry the sword and enforce the peace.

This includes the military.

People that try to suggest the Jesus would get rid of the military don't know their bibles very well it seems...
