I've always believed that the 'strong man' is our enemy and we bind our enemy to be free.
That said, I think the application can work both ways. If we're strong in the Lord, the enemy has to bind us before he can 'steal' from us. Since Christ has broken our chains, we can only be bound again if we allow it....and even then I'm not sure we're reaelly bound but rather we've been convinced we're bound.
Kinda like invisible fencing for dogs......they never know if the fence is on or off....they are just always convinced it's on.
Don't know if any of that makes much since, noland123, what do you think?
Hi,
this is one of the more confusing parables since it could be sort of interpreted both way like you just pointed out, but im glad to read your assessment of it.
