Here's a good article and warning about the book, 'The shack.'

Deceived by a counterfeit "Jesus" - The twisted "truths" of The Shack & A Course in Miracles

Though i have read the Shack i do not understand all the fuss for it or against it.

Talking about a counterfeit Jesus , the scriptures tells me Jesus "is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being,(Heb 1 : 13). The Jesus fundamental christianity believes in is a Country mile from the one i read about in the gospels and who the Hebrews epistle writer tells us He His.

My mother kept trying to get me to read this silly book! I refused. She got annoyed. I still haven't broke the news to her that I am a heathen unbeliever. It really bugs her that I won't read this book! She is not even religious. Doesn't go to church or anything. Go figure!

Not going to church and not being religious does not define anything about someone. Maybe it touched her heart but refuses to be religious or go to church??. I have no problem with that.

I read this book the day my Mother passed away last year and it was a great comfort to me. It also helped me to realize that there is much more to God than what you read about in the bible...which is another story in itself. The book is awesome and truly gives one insight into the real nature of God and I highly recommend it.

BTW...I don't go to church either...this is not a prerequisite to having a relationship with God...more and more people are realizing this and are leaving man made institutions in droves. Being "religious" will not help you have a true and lasting relationship with God...maybe she's a little more advanced in her insight of God than you think...you should have a chat with her sometime about that.

You'd have to know my mother to get it I guess. She's acting all overly concerned about my dislike of all things "church" when I never in a million years would've guessed she cared in the first place.

She just wants what is best for you...don't be too hard on her. Like I said, perhaps ya'll should have a chat about it one day...It could help you both in the long run.

You take great comfort in a book that presents a counterfeit Jesus and twists the truth about God!!!

Who's truth...yours From what I've seen of your posting Mike...you are believing in a delusion of a man made God...you are still believing in the "milk" and it's time for you to move on to the "solid food" of the gospel message. There is way more to God than you are aware of at the present time and you should search and keep searching until you find it.
