Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for His intention, His purpose, His design, His aim. Praise Him for accomplishing His goal. Praise Him for following through on what He came to do.
People around Him saw Him, heard Him, followed Him and believed in Him but many demanded Him to be put to death by nailing His hands and feet to a cross. His biggest enemy tempted, enticed and challenged Him. One follower betrayed Him for thirty silver coins. Another close to Him disowned Him by denying Him not once nor twice but three times. He was falsely accused of being a liar. He was beat down to a near point of death. He was mocked. Someone spat on His face. He was humiliated and laughed at. In His last minutes of living, a man hurled insults at Him: " Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!". All of this happened to Him and He could have asked for more than 50,000 angels against these people. 50,000 divine messengers who speak and act in the place of the one who sends them. 50,000 holy and spiritual beings. Immortal beings who were created before the earth was created. Who have greater wisdom and power than man. He could have asked for 50,000 angels to come against the ones who demanded Him to be nailed to the cross. Against the one who betrayed Him and the one who denied Him. Against the man who spat on His face. Against the man who nailed His hands and feet to the cross. Against the man who insulted Him at the cross.
What one man has fought about 50,000 man? What one man has fought about 50,000 angels? Not only did He have someone able to send 12 legions of angels against anyone but He also had the power to bring back people from the dead. If Jesus had the power to bring back people from the dead, it is safe to say He had the power to hurt those who hurt Him.
Jesus was not weak nor incapable. Weak is the one who changes design and purpose due to challenges and realization of difficult times. He had the power to deal with mockers and traitors in such a way many of us would have. But He did not! Jesus came to earth to do something and He accomplished it flawlessly. Praise Him for following through on what He came to do.
What did come to do? For that I will praise Him forever.
