I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their Legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State (Letter to the Danbury Baptists, 1802). - Thomas Jefferson.

Read the letter from Thomas Jefferson and decide for yourself. Remember who was the target audience, the complaint to him; basically the context.

You realize you are speaking about a country with a billion different religions with a trillion variances within the religions including yours, right? Try figuring out whose version of god will be "staying in the government" and you have the days of Roman emperors Justinian and Theodosius all over again. Lots of blood.

This is separation of church and state. Did you read the letter? I have no clue on what Rome has to do with this. Stay on point.

I was going back to your point that religion should STAY in government.

What Rome has to do with it? Read your history of how Christianity (READ: your religion) became the dominant religion in the Roman Empire, Fundy. Read about how much you owe to Roman emperors Justinian and Thoedosius and you will see the context of what I mean.

You want religion IN government, right? Yours I take it? How will you do that when other people might want theirs in there also?

Were talking about the letter where Thomas Jefferson introduced separation of church and state. Rome is irrelevant.

Go back to post #13, sir! The highlighted portion is what I am addressing. And, don't get too big for your britches there, guy. This does not an expert in American history make thee.
