I thought of this after I read vsmoove's thread about the Chrysler 300

I don't own nor can I afford even a base model Challenger but I am a big fan of the car nonetheless. Particularly the SRT-8 model, which competes with the Camaro SS, and the Mustang GT.

I think it's a beautiful car inside and out and I actually like it better then the Challenger made from 1970-74, and driving one would be a dream come true

But most of my friends who are into cars seem to be far more into the Mustang and the Camaro (most overhyped pony car imo) and they all say the Challenger sucks

I did meet two SRT enthusiasts once (both had caps with the SRT logo on it) One owned a Charger SRT, the other a Challenger SRT

But I still feel like I am alone in loving the Challenger. Is there anybody in this forum who prefers them over the Camaro and Mustang?

I own a new Mustang GT and DO prefer it over the Dodge.. BUT I do like the Challenger.. I think Chrysler did a great job on the car, its just too big to be a contender if you compare it to a Mustang.

Not exactly a fan but I do like the way it looks. When I see one on the freeway it always catches me eye.

It looks great but is a huge fail for me in any other category.

I like them, but as said they are a bit on the big side. If I had a choice I'd probably go with one over a Camaro or Mustang though.

The retro styling does make it stand out, but other than that, I don't think it's an especially great car. I have driven one, and it's okay. And, the friend who bought it seems satisfied, but doesn't have the same level of enthusiasm that he did when he first got it. I don't like the driving position with limited visibility (and I'm not short); the brakes seem weak; and the handling is not too sporty, IMO.

I like the look of the car, but it is pretty much a failure in every other way. It's far too big (heavy) to be a legitimate performance car. The other options are all better performers and definitely offer better bang for the buck. There isn't much difference mechanically between the Charger and Challenger except for two doors

I absolutely love the styling of the car but it doesn't really compete with the SS and GT. Although if I had the money, I would probably still buy the Challenger.

Nice looking car, but when you first see one on the road, you realize just how BIG it is, vs. the Camaro, and, especially the Mustang.
IMHO, too heavy, and overpriced to be a contender. I realize that Mopar fans love it, but my sense is that it has not been a sales success.

It definitely sells far fewer units than the Mustang/Camaro.
