It would be hard to top the late "World of the Satisfy'n Place" on McMillan Street ...

Hubby and I have a standing argument about Hangover's on Pippin Rd. He says if I were a more serious drinker, I'd understand and appreciate the appeal of the name. But it just doesn't seem like out of all the names in the universe the image I'd want to call to mind.

I do, however, love BAMBOOZBAR Check out the signage/logo for complete cuteness.

Back in the late 70s, there was a college bar around UC named "D. W. Eye's", and I recall a hanging sign in front of the place with a huge eye on it.

Ah, found a reference: http://books.google.com/books?id=Qh8...innati&f=false

I always liked the names of Sleep Out Louie's and, better still, the Why Not Lounge. Still in existence on Ludlow Ave is the gay bar called Golden Lions - perhaps better known as Golden Loins.

There was a place on Queen City Avenue in Fairmount years ago called Scars.

Scars.

The name told you just about all you needed to know about that joint ....

^^ Speaking of Queen City bars, there was one right across the street from St. Francis hospital called the Waiting Room.. I always thought that was kind of cute.

Fries (pronounced freeze) on Jefferson Avenue in Clifton

Love the constantly changing taps that feature beers you won't find anywhere else in the city. Right now they have Bell's beers from Michigan.
