28-year-old surgeon. I'm not picky but I know what I'm looking for.

I'm fairly new to Cincinnati, and I've been well informed that it is not a very dating-friendly city. That's alright. There are 300,000 people here so there are opportunities.

Just wondering where would be some good places to hang out. Definitely need advice from seasoned Cincinnati folks. Many people told me Hyde Park, but please be more specific (like which establishment).

It's 28 degrees outside now so just walking on the street would be miserable

What are you, a tree surgeon? Or Doogie Howser?

Let's see, a four year college degree, 3 years of medical school, a one year internship and 5 years of general surgical residency, two years of vascular or thoracic surgery. That would have you out of high school at 13. Great job! Most of the guys I know who are chest cutters started in their late 30's and had no time for bars or dating. And, no need since there are a hundred surgical nurses who would do you in the bathroom if you asked.

Wow.

Don't judge a city based on its city limits census data. There are more than 2.2 million people here, not 300,000.

That being said, the advice you received for Hyde Park is ballpark accurate, but hardly specific. My advice to you is to check out the scene in Mount Adams first, then go from there. Places such as Pavilion would be a good place to start for your demographic, and simply walk outside and go from place to place - aliveOne, Longworth's, Blind Lemon, etc. Then, if I were you, I'd go down to OTR and check out some of the places along Vine, north of Central Parkway. There is some serious talent that patronizes Lackman that you may be interested in. But bring your credit cards - the new OTR is expensive with city prices on drinks, food, etc.

Other places that you may find interesting would be O'Briens in O'bryonville, RP McMurphy's in Hyde Park, Freis in Clifton and Animations in Oakley, among many, many, many other places near those that I mentioned that you'll no doubt discover. Oh, and check out the Newport scene too. Hofbrauhaus isn't just for fat lederhosen-wearing tourists.

And, to give out a personal great tip: The very best place that I've found in Cincinnati to meet girls is pre- or post-Bengals games at downtown bars such as Head First, O'Malley's, Holy Grail, etc. Wow, it's like a Golden Corral of choices. Reds games are also a free-for-all of fun. Check it out and let us know what you find.

Not so. Look at his earlier posts. He's a poseur. Have fun with him.

Wilson... I have to agree.

You are good man. You look at something, say this looks spurious, and research further. I need to do that.

Ugh ... now I feel stupid having wasted my time giving him a legitimate response.

Dude, you're supposed to use your "I'm a 28 year old surgeon" as a pick up line in person with a drunk girl who won't be able to calculate the false age in that, not on an internet forum.

Hmm, I missed something. I can't find any mention of a surgery specialty anywhere except in Wilson's post so let's see, Graduate High School at 17, 4 yrs college makes 21, 3 yrs Med School - 24. I would say that at 28 it is quite possible to be nearly completed with a 5 year surgical residency in General Surgery, but from everything I have read and heard, one would probably not have TIME to go anywhere to look for girls.

NOTE: I did use the search function but did not find threads that were particularly helpful.

I am a cardiovascular surgeon who is about to have a practice in Chicago. I'm looking forward to buying a single-home house that's between $1-2 million dollars and larger than 4000 square-feet. Ideally, it's going to be within one-hour driving distance from downtown. I don't mind suburb at all. Nice neighborhood and decent school district. Any inputs will be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I didn't even count the year and nine months since he posted it.
