Didn't see this posted anywhere else but maybe it was:

Cincinnati is getting the first free-standing Microsoft store in Ohio, opening next week at Kenwood Towne Centre. Unbelievably, the band O.A.R. will play at the store on Nov. 10. Now, O.A.R. has sold out Madison Square Garden; I saw them once play to a sold-out Alpine Valley Music Center in Wisconsin back in 2005ish. Now they're playing in malls? Either they've fallen - big time - or Microsoft pays an absolute ton.

More than $14M approved for Gateway's fifth phase
Quote:
Last Wednesday, Cincinnati City Council approved more than $14 million in funding for master developer Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation's (3CDC) continued work in Over-the-Rhine.

The first package of ordinances authorized the issuance of $5.5 million in bonds for the second phase of Mercer Commons, a $22.3 million project that includes the renovation of 13 buildings and the construction of one new building and will result in 67 residential rental units and 10,600 square feet of commercial space along the 1300 block of Walnut Street and at 31 Mercer Street.

Montgomery Road Metro*Plus service to be precursor to bus rapid transit
Quote:
Cincinnati will take its first tentative steps toward a bus rapid transit (BRT) system next year with a pilot service called Metro*Plus, which will provide limited-stop transportation along the Montgomery Road corridor between Downtown and Kenwood.

BRT provides faster, limited-stop service along major traffic corridors, often with more amenities than standard bus service. Often, travel times are improved through traffic signal priority or special bus lanes, with stations generally spaced a mile apart.

As somebody living along this corridor, I'm pumped! They've been talking BRT for years now with no real progress. BRT has tons of potential at a relatively low cost.

I figured there would be a steakhouse opening in the casino. I wonder how well this would do with Jeff Ruby's, Morton's, and Ruth Chris?
